Zip's is a neighborhood institution. Family friendly but also cool enough for most. The food is solid, the staff is friendly and man if it hasn't changed in decades you know they're doing something right. I love you Zip's never change.
I've known about this place for a while, but the pandemic restrictions prevented me from making the trek down here from Columbus until today. I had high expectations after finding out about their winning number one burger in Ohio by Food & Wine magazine. Well, the positive was the atmosphere as it reminded me of a dark Medieval English pub. The hamburger was good. Not extraordinary or earth-shattering, but good. Reminded me of a beefier Quarter Pounder with Cheese. I liked it. The onion rings were pretty good too. Nice and crunchy. Chili was smooth and just a bit of kick. The negatives were the cost (Pricey for a burger and onion rings : $16) and the meager amount of onion rings served for my $16. By the way, I got the single with metta. Now, would I come back? Since it didn't knock my socks off on taste and cost, I'm not sure?? Unfortunately, despite being ranked number one in Ohio, there are too many competitors vying for a number one spot to try before I can make that final decision. We will see. Thanks
Great local spot - been around since the 20s. No frills - just great food at a great price. $8 burgers, $2 fries. Beer and wine, too. What more could your want?! Busy on a Saturday at 5pm - had to wait for a table.
Best burgers in this the city. I've been going there since I was a little boy. Service is always great. Keep up the good work
Great burger and chili with amazing consistency! Place has not changed since I started going there in 2000 and it doesn't need to either. Keep serving great food!
Best burger in town. Zips uses a local German butcher shop, Avril & Bleh, to make its patties. The quality of shows in the end product. Great service, ambiance, cold beer and a toy train. Can get busy on weekends. Decent craft beer list and a small bar in the rear of the restaurant. The menu looks like it is from the 1920s. The chili (Texas style) and onion rings are also stand outs. This restaurant is in the pantheon of great local diners such as Echo, Proud Rooster, Blue Ash Chili, and Hathaway's. Hope it never changes.
Excellent burgers and fries. You must try the onion rings! Fun, dive atmosphere - great local spot!
Fun, pub style diner in a great area of cinci. Menu of hamburgers, grilled cheese, chicken sandwiches and good assortment of apps. Chili was great! Small dining room area with a toy train running around the room, bar area in back. Great attentive staff made it a fun dinner with family.
The burgers are out of this world and the fries complimented the burger well. The place is small so there is not a lot of room for dine in. They do accept carryout orders though.
Massively overrated in Cincinnati. I get that it has loads of history, but the food is mediocre at best. Prices have also skyrocketed. The last 3 times I have been there I was seated in a cramped, uncomfortable spot with freezing AC blowing on me. That's about on par for the seating options in there. Check it out once so you can say you've been, but don't get your hopes up. Much better burgers elsewhere in town.
