Loved this place. We celebrated my wifeâs birthday with friends.
Average restaurant in most all categories. Not a place to celebrate special occasions (such as birthdays) as they do not offer anything complimentary. This restaurant is operating under a new name and the dining experience I had was not as good as when I previously dined there under a different name.
Excellent service and dinner!! We were a part of 4 adults and each loved their entrees - my husband said his chicken parmesan was the best he'd every had! We also enjoyed and excellent fettuccini, chicken piccata and caprese salads. Topped off the wonderful experience with homemade cannolis. We will be back...thank you!!!
Was concerned about the change from Vincenzo's, which was our favorite Italian restaurant in Cincinnati. Not a problem - the fettucine and calamari were as good as ever. Our server was fast, and had a great personality. This is not the trendy, overpriced, small portion type of nuovo Italian you get a certain DT Cinci restaurants. Come here for honest, mostly northern, Italian cuisine.
Terrible experience. No hostess for 20 minutes. Long wait for everything. Makes me miss Vincenzoâs.
We were frequent diners when it had the previous name, Vincenzo's. The food is just as great and there are some new menu items, yet keeping a lot of the previous favorites. We will continue to dine at Porta Nera and try some of the new dishes!

New chef/owner makes good food! We had a very nice dinner there! But he needs diners... Please go there and support your local restaurants!

Very disappointed. Appetizer seemed âburntâ. Entree too salty to eat. Sent it back and took forever to get replacement item. It wasnât that great either. Wonât be back.
