Skyline is really good. Might not be that healthy but it's okay! Lots of cheese. This location is good for UC students, right by Burnett woods and other shops. It had good service by the waitress, however the person in charge of checkout was slower and the waitress ended up just checking us out. It's always really smokey in there I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because it's an older location and it doesn't have as good ventilation.
If I could give 10 stars to a restaurant... it would be Skyline Chili in Clifton. My fraternity house was down the street when I was in college in the 1970's. It hasn't changed one bit since. I live out of state now... but every time I go to Cincinnati, the first place I go is Skyline! I love the chili dogs, the chili, the service, and the atmosphere. I can tell I am at Skyline the second I walk in the door!I LOVE SKYLINE CHILI... ?
I was most impressed with the Cheese Coney. It was a delicious steamed bun with mustard, covered with chili, diced onions and a mound of shredded cheddar cheese. Though they give you the option to have it without mustard/onions/hot dog. I personally ordered it with all except the hotdog. Very tasty and crave worthy. My only complaint was the Buffalo chicken wrap had barely any Buffalo chicken and an overwhelming amount of ranch that completely overpowered the flavor of anything else in there. Experience was pleasurable, friendly staff, peaceful and clean environment.
Good Cincinnati chili but my favorite is still Camp Washington. That said, Skyline is always a treat when I'm able to get back to Cincy. Service was superb even though it was a busy time of day. And free off-street parking is available just behind the building.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. I originally ordered a small three way with lite cheese, but I was given a regular by mistake. In my opinion, the portion sizes are on the small side. I could only imagine how small the actual small was. The chili tasted strongly of cinnamon, which I wasn’t used to, but I didn’t mind it. Adding ketchup toned it down. If I went again, I would ask for the chili to be less juicy (that’s an option). If you want to try a food unique to Cincinnati, this is the place to go.
Had to make a stop at this Skyline Chili as it's the oldest location in Cincinnati. Was worried that I couldn't find parking, but they have a parking lot directly behind the restaurant. It's definitely nothing fancy. People prepping food right in the center of the restaurant. It's good, and filling with a reasonable price. And it's open late I to the night.
It's been quite some years, since I had Skyline. My daughter who was with me had it for her first time.I may have hated the reason I visited this location, but the food was very good. Prompt service, the place was clean, and we had no problems finding a parking spot. (They have their own parking). One of the only few good things about Cincinnati. This location that is.
Clifton skyline is by far my favorite! Always great service and the best food!
I recently visited this location for my 30th birthday since I am a huge skyline fiend. My mom and I had never been to the oldest standing location and there’s something different here. The staff doesn’t miss a beat, they’re juggling a million things so effortlessly. There’s also some fun historic trivia here if you pay attention! Great experience and great food!
It's an amazing experience if you love chili.
