Not a quick lunch, but delicious! Burger and onion rings were fabulous! I had chopped salad with chicken tenders...best salad in ages! Greens, chicken, and plenty of it, hard boiled egg, avocado, bacon, tomato...and the lemon vinaigrette was outstanding! Nice local beer selection, plus the basics for noncrafters. Will definitely return!
What an unbelievably horrible experience! We have been here several times. We noticed today that everyone was getting food but us. We noticed the people that came after us sitting at the bar got food. After one hour, I talked to the owner who apologized and said he was sorry that Megan forgot to put our order in. I’ve never been a great fan of this place, but I promise you we shall never return again. Their hamburgers are not worth what we went through.
I have visited several times with different friends and everyone has been pleased. The burgers are the best I've ever had, fresh, juicy and inventive flavor combinations. Sides are generous, with crispy, tasty fries being a highlight. They carry a fine range of local craft beers. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is that of a roadside diner with table, booth and bar seating with an array of TVs showing a variety of sports. Also, outdoor seating with umbrellas in nice weather. Busy weekday lunches, family friendly especially on weekends.
It was a long day of travel and we were looking for a place to get some good food (and I was looking for some local craft beer). The dining link on our Marriott Bonvoy Springhill Suites app page had Sammy's Gourmet Burgers and Beers at the top. That might have been because of location -- a block from the hotel -- but it deserves the top spot. An unassuming building hides amazing food and a great beer menu. I was admittedly skeptical when it took a few minutes just to get in the door as the small staff was working hard to seat a party of six during the dinner rush. But once we got in, total thumbs up. Our server was friendly and even suggested we order early because "the kitchen is slow" but it wasn't slow at all. I tried a flight of local beers and enjoyed them all. My wife had the avocado tacos with a side of an ear of seasoned sweet corn. She pronounced it excellent. I turned to the Sammy's Classic burger and fries. The burger's bun came with the Sammy's brand on it, which cracked me up. Both the burger and fries were great. We will be making the trip between Memphis and Michigan a few times to see family and you can count on us visiting Sammy's when we pass through Cincinnati.
I used to come here when they sponsored my baseball team, 2010-2013. During this time frame, the food was excellent. Big burgers appropriately priced, wrapped in plastic so you wouldn’t make a mess on yourself, adequately air conditioned, and you got your money’s worth. Fast forward to 3/14/2022- It was at least 80 degrees in the crowded restaurant. The burger sizes have decreased, but prices have stayed the same, if not gone up. The fries portions are about half what they used to be. I’m not sure who had the idea of putting coleslaw on a tray and not in a bowl, but that is a horrible idea. None of the burgers were wrapped, creating a huge mess for everyone. I’m not sure if owners have changed since early 2010’s, but the quality of food has gone down sharply. We spent $90 on 3 mediocre burgers with small portions. Back in 2010, we would’ve spent $90 for 4 people including appetizers, our burgers much bigger, and larger portion sizes for fries and soups. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. You’re better off going to a Red Robin, and I don’t even like Red Robin.
Terrible pickup service. I’ve been waiting an hour for one burger and fries. No servers or managers have answers. Estimated time was 20 minutes, and I still don’t know when it will be ready after an hour of waiting inside. Do NOT recommend ordering for pickup.
Sammy’s was busy on this Sunday night. The staff were very pleasant. The food and beer were great. We had chili, burgers and tacos, and all were delicious.
Amazing Burgers! Small environment but outdoor seating available also for warmer weather. Highly recommended
Service was great! The hamburgers were great but be prepared to pay! Clean, cozy and close to my hotel room.
Sammy's is our go-to restaurant when we visit the area for the Western/Southern open. Well prepared food, great selection and good local beers available. It's a family type place with TVs over the bar so you can continue to catch the tennis action. Also good outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade.
