We went in at 830 on a Saturday night and they were out of baked beans and hush puppies. 830 at night and out of food already?Service was good and quick. We had pulled pork and wings.Pulled pork was not hot, warm at best but had good flavor but if it was smoked I could not taste any of the smoky flavor. The wings were better we had it with the bbq sauce.Based off the pulled pork I can't believe others have said this is the best bbq they have ever had. If this is the best you have ever had, you have not had good bbq.Prices are high for what you get but I understand this is in the over the rine district and it's the trendy place to be.If you are looking for real bbq not foo foo bbq look elsewhere.
Came in for a drink and appetizer. Service was fast and friendly. Drinks were great, we liked the sauce on the wings more than the wings themselves, but overall they were good.
Tried this place for the first and last time over the weekend. The 3 stars are only for the drink. While waiting on the Jungle Bird drink, the bartender decides to play with his NOSE while making drinks. It was reported to the waitress so a general manager came to the rescue by making my drink. After he finishes it, instead of bringing it to our table, which was closer, he decided to walk in the opposite direction to have a waitress bring it. A "I'm sorry for that," would've been a nice gesture fron that GM. BTW: the bartender continued to make drinks and never walked away to wash his hands. That's disgusting!!!
The brisket sandwich was absolutely incredible (slow roasted but not smoked) and the staff were nice but the dry rub wings were too salty and the ribs were undercooked. Totally inedible. We also never received the drinks we ordered. Overall, the sandwich was worth it but didn't like the negative stuff.
I was pretty disappointed after eating here today. The ribs $12 for 3 bones) were very rubbery, cooked too fast, probably not even smoked and could not even be cut with a knife. The wings were decent enough. The service was good, but honestly City BBQ has better ribs. I was expecting more from this joint.
I used to love this place but I can't eat there anymore because they stopped making a vegetarian option. They used to make wonderful vegetables, and they were amazing. I told lots of people about how great this was. But no more vegetables, so no more patronage from me. Too bad.
Pontiac is solid - great wings/great drinks. Service on the other hand, has gone downhill. No reason for drinks to come out 20 min after our food comes, while sitting at the bar. Won’t be back for a while, hopefully service improves.
The brisket & baked beans truly knocked my socks OFF. Hella good!
Goooood food. Friendly staff!
Maybe it was my fault for going in an hour before closing but everything was cold. The brisket tacos (nothing more than a piece of brisket with some sort of s flavorless auce wrapped in a tortilla that looks like it was bought from Kroger) were pathetic. The brisket nachos however; we're actually very good... But cold...and my wife's pulled pork sandwich was also served, you guessed it, cold. Nearly $60 for a cold meal (including drinks.) It had been over a year since I last visited Pontic OTR and it was great back then. I don't know what they changed exactly but they need to change it back.
