Loved this spot, was a bit of a drive but well worth it! As others have mentioned it's slightly pricey however the food is 100% worth what they are charging. The goi cuan was fresh and packed with flavor. The bahn mi chicken was incredible, the baguette had the perfect crunch while still being soft and chewy, the veggies were great (I'll ask for extra next time cause I love their pungent fresh flavor) I got a chicken pho to go and was incredible when I had it for dinner the next day. Will definitely be going back for more the staff was so friendly and the food was amazing.
Ok so I am somewhat of a pho snob. The last couple of times visiting my regular pho place, I have left disappointed. So tonight when we decided we wanted pho, we agreed to check out this local restaurant. It’s very handy— literally right down the road from home. Let me just say, Omg! When you first walk into the restaurant you are greeted with bright colors and a huge menu. Also this amazing pho aroma. After staring at the menu for a few minutes, We got the chicken báhn mì to split. As well as the pho tài (thin rare steak). The chicken báhn mì was nicely toasted, Very flavorful and beautifully presented. We didn’t snap a photo of the sandwich, just too eager to try it. I wasn’t disappointed— I do wish the cucumber was sliced thinner. Now for the pho, the broth was very light— which made me worry that it didn’t have much flavor, but I was wrong. There was a nice fatty shimmer on top, thinly sliced onions, green onions and bean sprouts. I added lime, pepper, couple jalapeños and some Thai basil to my bowl. After letting the basil soak in the broth for a few minutes I gave it another try. BAM! It’s nearly perfect. I was very surprised with how much meat and noodles were in the bowl as well. This restaurant didn’t skimp out on anything. When leaving the restaurant, you quickly realize the smell of the restaurant has soaked into your outfit, which happens to be my favorite thing about a restaurant. I want to wear the aroma out of the restaurant, in my opinion, that means it’s more than likely flavorful and delicious. Will I be back? Definitely. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely. Did they meet the standards of my favorite pho restaurant?! Pretty dang close. I did tell my significant other that next time we need to bring our own cilantro. (I will use a full bundle on my serving usually) To Pho Veit owners— thank you for coming to the west side. You have outdone yourself. You will be seeing me again soon!
So happy there is pho on the west side!! The employees are so nice, and so helpful. Their Pho Ga is amazing, and so is their vietnamese coffee!!
The to-go packaging was thoughtful and pretty. My pho tai was wonderful and my husband loved his bahn mi. So glad to have a good Vietnamese spot on the west side!!
This restaurant treat you not only a customers but like a family. Very nice people who ever helped you to get your orders are all very friendly… If you are Asians you can totally feel the hospitality around here you know we are number one known as very friendly people. Food is great and reasonable prices…. My friend had a great lunch here. Looking forward to go back soon..
I went here for the first time and ordered two orders of pork vermicelli noodle bowls for takeout. It’s a $15 entrée. I was truly stunned when I got home and opened the containers. It was shocking to see such a tiny amount of food - literally half of what you would typically get anywhere else. I have been eating vermicelli noodle bowls for 30 years and have had them at many different Vietnamese restaurants so I know what a typical portion looks like. Also, the pork was low quality; very fatty, nasty. I was so disappointed. I was truly hoping to frequent this restaurant since it is so close to my home. That was an incredible amount of money to spend on such a tiny, poor quality, food. Not sure I’m willing to give them a second chance. I was so stunned about the tiny portions of food that I, unfortunately, totally forgot to take pictures to post.
After trying to find pho for days we finally made the trip up to pho viet and were so happy we did. The pho, spring rolls and banh mi were delicious. They have great Thai Tea and coffee as well; the hours were nice for a late dinner night. Super convenient location and courteous staff with quick service. Definitely a place to eat again for the mouth watering food!
Good pho, good service, neat decor, can't speak highly about the rest of the dishes we had. The Bao was a bit dry and the Bahn Mi tasted like a store bought hoagie roll with deli meat.An authentic Bahn Mi is normally served on a delicious fresh french light baguette ?, that absolutely leaves you wanting more and not feeling like you are eating a heavy thick breaded sub.Lots of food awards hanging on the wall, was hoping to be blown away.
Love this restaurant. The food is wonderful. I usually have to go downtown for this delicious food...and now it’s here, on the Westside! Go! You won’t regret it.
I’ve had Pho before and I was disappointed in the food and service! I got it to go and I was under the impression that my beef would already be in the Pho broth cooked. I was mistaken and I wasn’t happy about it. Usually, that’s how I’ve experienced it before. However, I got a few pieces of raw steak beef on top of my cooked noodles. I had to call the restaurant to clarify and that’s when the owner said that I need to microwave the meat and pho for 5 minutes at home. It would have been nice to know all of this as I was ordering! Apparently, this is all different if you are eating inside according to him! Again, make sure you give this information out to your customers as they are ordering! No one wants to see RAW RED MEAT on on top of their rice noodles!
