I rocks with their coney. Completely different taste compared to the local corporations we're used to.
Got: 2 Chili cheese dogs and friesService was good with a reasonable wait time. But after reading all the reviews I gave them a try today and was disappointed. Not a fan of boiled hot dogs to begin with, second chili was barely noticeable and what little was eventually found tasted like it was maybe Hormel (caned chili) and lastly, as much as I am a fan of cheese and as expensive as it is my order was absolutely Covered with a ridiculous amount of cheese. Ridiculous amount. Again, I am a fan of cheese. But give them a try, you may be a fan. The deal breaker for me is boiled dogs and canned chili.
Great service, delicious food! Hubs had the fish sandwich, i had a chili dog. Shared the onion rings. Fries. Banana shake. Yummm... 2 combos for $20.
Great little hidden gem! So many items to try. I had a regular chili cheese and a reuben dog. Both were spectacular. The staff was even more amazing!! Thank you!
Just love Mr. Gene's. I haven't been there in a long time and it was nice to know it is still in the family. The food was just as good as it was when I was there years ago. I had the Chicago dog and the best fries. Friendly service. Clean as a pin and everybody with gloves on. When you're looking for fast food and you live in Northside you just have to remember Mr. Gene's. I will go back soon!
It's hot dogs done good. Can't go wrong. I had the Hot Chilli cheese and it was just what I expected. Chilli cheese fries were good as well. Great spot for lunch on the go.
Great Hot Chili Cheese Met. Butterscotch Shake was perfect to wash it down with but they have many other flavors. Awesome customer service. Check it out!
The coneys were terrible they had a sign saying they had foot long coneys and they didn't thought I was buying a footlong but instead he said they been stop selling the footlong .There cheese coneys was 4.25 cents and they were really nasty and gross .They had the nerve to sell coneys more inexpensive then skyline .And there hotdogs taste like Jon Morrell hot dogs will never go back again gross and too expensive for there food.

Been there three times, each time getting the Reuben hot dog, fries and a pop. Very good hot dog! Fries are good too. Quick service, very affordable. Only reason I didn't give five stars is due to my limited experience.
