Great as always
We enjoy the Jeff Rubyâs experience at least 4-5 times a year. We usually patronize the Lexington and Louisville locations. This was our first visit to the downtown Cincinnati restaurant. We were graciously greeted and accommodated earlier than our reservation and given a nice seat in the bar and enjoyed the piano player very much. Our server was very efficient, polite and gracious. Our cocktails were beautifully presented and very tasty. The appetizer salad was more than enough for us both and we are thankful our server confirmed our inquiry to split. The Godfather sushi roll was delicious but a little âwarmâ to our likingâ¦.we prefer chilled sushi. Then comes the main entree. We both ordered the petite filet. The medium cooked filet was good, but the medium rare filet was chewy and under seasoned. The baked potato was one of the worst baked potatoes we have ever tried to eat. It was cold, hard, and dark in color. It appeared to have been left over from the day before and reheatedâ¦but not even warm. We have had better baked potatoes years ago in college when we splurged to go to Golden Corral. Not at all what one would expect from Jeff Rubyâs!! Our server was so gracious that we felt bad complaining to her. We gave her an $80 tip on a $270 meal for two. Someone at Jeff Rubyâs Cincinnati is telling someone, somewhere, to cut costâ¦but still charging the customer the same price. Very disappointing. We will return, but not sure in Cincinnati.
Food and service were both perfect!
Many visits to the downtown location and it never disappoints! The Cowboy Steak stole the show! Of course our server Dustin was phenomenal.
Dress code needs to be looked at a little harder. Iâd expect folks to know how to dress when visiting a higher class restaurant but unfortunately that was not the case on this visit. Baseball cap and gym shorts? Come on someone has to enforce that. Not trying to eat high end steak in a fast food environment.
Ty for a wonderful celebration for a family members 49th anniv and recovery of a bone marrow transplant.
Service is great. I've had the filet and ribeye before so I though I'd try something different this time. I ordered Blue Crab Bisque, East and West Coast Oysters, Aronoff Salad and Sushi. The Blue Crab Bisque had minimal crab meat so I didn't think it was great. Oysters were ok but definitely overpriced. Sushi is about the same as higher end Sushi restaurants.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The sushi was out of this world good, the steak melted in my mouth and had a ton of flavor. And don't forget dessert - the chocolate cake was delicious and could be split by two people easily.
Request Tay to wait on your table â you wonât be disappointed!!!
