No gloves when handling food, wiped her nose with food in her hands, food was cold and the tables were sticky from not being washed. Absolutely disgusting
I've eaten at a lot of locations, including this one, but my recent visit was very disappointing. The other poor reviews are spot on; overcooked rice, minimal main dishes. I have gotten 2 orders in one bowl for years and the dish I had tonight was 90% mushy rice and little to no other ingredients aside from some of the sauce.Paid for extra bread which was just small slivers of dry baguette, not the regular-sized, buttered bread you'd come to expect.Someone I presume to be the manager or owner was sitting in the corner of the otherwise empty restaurant telling the guy working how to serve us. Had I been watching him dish up the order I wouldn't have accepted it. Portions were so small.J.Gumbos is a great chain, but this location doesn't deserve your money with all the cutting corners and uncharging they've decided to do.Shameful. I can only assume it's under new ownership as it hasn't been this way I the past and all the bad reviews are from the past several weeks.
I purchased my order today and it was awful. The rice was over cooked and "no meat"! Very disappointed considering I was advised to try their Druken Chicken (was advised of the Blue Ash location). So I found a location closer and bowl of rice. What little meat was inside not sure it was sausage, along with the bay leaves and hard as rock! Only a few bites and was done.
Amazing food, beautiful staff ?. Only complaint is when I got home I realized they were pretty skimpy with the gumbo portions. Nevertheless I'll be back..(I drove from Indy so that tells you something)
J. Gumbo's is great when you're looking for something a little different from your usual takeout. Our family loves the bourbon chicken (for those who prefer savory to spicy), jambalaya, and bumblebee stew. Oh, and the cornbread! So many great choices!
Finessed me for no reason on my first time coming through. Ordered 1/2 1/2 for 5 each . Through 1 scoop of voodoo chicken in my bowl with some rice and called it a day. Bad business shame heard good things, food slapped but never gone see me again
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They set me up with some samples that helped me to choose what I wanted, but everything tasted good. I chose the Bourbon Chicken.
Got there as soon as it was open and the associate told me they were out of about every option I chose. You could tell the gumbo was leftover from the night before and so was the rice. It was my first time there and I probably won’t come back
The peach cobbler was cold, I threw it in the trash. It was as if they took canned peaches and dumped it on already baked pie crus( nothing spectacular). The Étouffée was ok and the white chilli was ok too. Service was great and fast. The food was nothing to rave about.
J Gumbo's is great. Fast, affordable, tasty. I wish there was one closer to me! I've had several of there options over the years, and all were great.
