I had a fun lunch at the downtown Izzy's restaurant with my daughter today. She really misses their Reuben getta sandwich since moving from Cincinnati to Silver Spring MD last year. We easily found a parking spot around the corner. My daughter had ordered ahead of time & it was ready when I got to the pickup counter. Their sourdough bread is great but I substituted a potato pancake and then 2 for the bread. The getta really makes the the sandwich great! The potato pancakes are so tasty. The potato cakes were at least a day old, cold, tough and thin. Considering I got to the location at 10:55am and they open at 10:00am. The fish sandwich had more tartar sauce than fish. The cashier/server who took my order had the personality of a day old potato cake. I won't be going back there anytime soon.
Very nice, easy going place for a quick bite, open until 8pm. I had a beef - barley soup, absolutely delicious, thank you!
Staff was pretty friendly. Chicken soup was salty. Potato pancakes were good but sandwich was disappointing.
This is my first time going to this location in years. I was not too fond of the service. The lady that took my order was kind of rude and unwelcoming. when I asked for fresh potato cakes, she stated that their potato cakes were always fresh. although they're not. there were potato cake sitting under the heat lamp. Unless you noticed that I said at the bar and was watching them make my food then she directed the guy to make sure the potato cakes were fresh
Clean, fast and friendly. Great location, plenty of street parking nearby. Nice and friendly store associates provide excellent service with a smile, and the food is fresh and hot. We love this location and can’t wait to return. Got a reuben sandwich, a pastrami sandwich, famous potato pancakes a jar of pickles and cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert. Delicious!!
This sandwich shop is awesome. The classic Ruben is hard to beat. Can't speak to the rest of the menu cause... Ruben.
Quaint, well staffed, staff friendly and helpful. Food good. I had a Pastrami Reuben and want another. The texture of the pretzel bun adds to the great flavors.

Try the greatest Reuben sandwich with potato cakes. You can ask for a serving of applesauce and or sour cream on the cakes, its a thing up in Cincy. I prefer sour cream.. I wish I could make the cakes that good in my house, so crunchy but like mashed potatoes on the inside. The Reubens on rye was very good. My kids ate seconds because corned beef meat was so good, not too salty. The server was a bit boring but the food and speed of service more than made up for it.
