Stopped by for carry out and ordered the porterhouse MR w mashed potatoes and bearnIse sauce. Got home and enjoyed absolutely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I don’t order steak often Togo as it seems a lot of restaurants are cutting back on quality with rising food prices but not the case at El Coyote. I’ve eaten all around the country and promise this steak will not disappointThanks guys for a great steak. Be back soon :)
Worse service I have ever gotten! I get better service going through a drive thru then I did at this place. The salsa was gross the queso tasted like salt water my daughter's chicken tenders were refried and cold I didn't even try to eat my food told them to send it back not to even bring it out. Oh and I'm pretty sure the waitress was either drunk or high. If I could rate this place with no stars I would. And I'm pretty my service was like it was because of my black children was with me. And the owner was very rude as well.
As others long ago in the 1980s was spectacular for Tex-Mex food. The kind you'd salivate the just thinking of from their menu items. Somehow all has changed to just OK. Now instead of several times a year we seem to go once to see if they've realized and tried to pull back to what once was? The service is good, ambiance is right but without the old flavor will we be back?
We used to love El Coyote, not sure what has happened. We had a party of 4 and one of our guests ordered the Tomahawk steak ($136.00). The server came back 20 minutes later and said that all of the other food was ready, but not the steak (and she said she had never served one for the 2 years she worked there). I asked her if the steak was frozen and had to be thawed and she said no. An hour later, we had been finished with dinner for quite a bit and the steak finally arrived, wrapped in foil "to go." My friend had no dinner. When he got home, he unwrapped it and well, the picture speaks for itself (raw and full of gristle). Since we invited this couple to El Coyote, my husband felt responsible and called the manager the next day (Monday morning). It is now Tuesday night, and no call back so thus the negative review - we always want to give a business a chance before writing a review. Very disappointing to say the least!
I really wish I could give El Coyote a better review. My wife and I like to support locally owned restaurants, so it pains me to write a review that’s less than stellar. My complaint lies with the food and ambiance, not the service. The inside of El Coyote looks like a a never ending dive bar. They do have a decent patio. We have eaten here 3 times in the last year. For the price; the quality and consistency of the food leave a lot to be desired. 2 out of 3 times our steaks were over cooked. The broccoli was undercooked. Steak prices are less expensive than Ruby’s and include two sides, but if I’m spending $50+ on a steak, I’d much rather pay a little more and go to Ruby’s where food is consistently delicious and the ambiance is pleasing.
For a restaurant that has such a wide variety of very good food and dips for the corn chips I must say the corn chips are the worst I have ever had. It looks like they purchased the cheapest they could find. They are round and they are salted, very salted. Extremely disappointing considering the upscaled food offering. The wine selection is good and so are the margaritas. Could have been 5 stars.
I was happy that they have not changed the mashed potatoes or fajitas, BUT the service was poor and the fact they changed their chips to the cheapest “nacho” chip you can find was EXTREMELY disappointing. When you are known for good salsa and being a higher-end Tex-mex restaurant, you shouldn’t be cheap and carry the same tortilla chips that gas stations and cheap concessions have for their nachos.
Just moved to the area everyone said el coyotes place to be for fine dining and great steak so I ordered and went to home nothing I ordered was in the bag food was extremely cold I stood at cash register for 10 minutes while 3 young ladies were taking before they decided to help me I have had better service at McDonald's I will never grace El coyotes ever again for what I paid for for nothing but pure crap you people don't know what a good restaurant is pure laziness on their part sweet tea has sugar in it what a shitty restaurant
Every single time I go here, the food is phenomenal!I couldn't remember my server's name, but she was also just as fantastic as the food!I've never set a reservation here before, but thought for Valentine's, it would be appropriate...and boy was I right!Anyways, both my lady and I got the Filet, cooked to perfection. I had a stuffed pepper with mine, and she didn't get any add-ons. But, both steaks were amazing. This really is my favorite steak place in town.
Excellent food, beautiful restaurant and hardworking staff. Some of my favorite menu items have been the quesadillas, rice and peanut butter dessert. Portions are huge and the food is really delicious. Great spot for date night and large groups. One of my favorite sit down restaurants in Anderson. Highly recommend coming here!
