From the moment we walked in the door to our exit—our experience was exemplary. My daughter and I were in town early May for my 50th birthday and she googled “soul food restaurants” and I must admit, her choice was excellent! Marlon was very hospitable and the ribs were wow! We are from Kansas City—a city known for BBQ and we were impressed! The greens were WOW-WOW! Although our food was scrumptious, you can’t beat Marlon’s A+ customer service! My fiance and I tried Crown's tonight for the first time. It was so good! I got the chicken fingers and onion rings. The chicken was crispy and juicy. Onion rings were yummy! My fiance got the fish and chips and greens. He loved it. He said the fish was fried perfectly. I tasted the greens and let me tell you they were AMAZING!!! We will definitely be going again. We got it to go and it was hot when we got home which is a huge plus!
So I had to tryCrown’s Kitchen for myself after seeing all the hype in Chowdown Cincinnati. Let me say the service was amazing & every single thing I tried was delicious.The owner sent out two samples before my main dish was served. First the Greens which is a must try when all of you stop in. Then a sample of the ribs, which again was outstanding.I ordered the grilled chicken salad no tomato. It was completely on point… it was a very large serving I couldn’t dare to eat all of.For desert I took home a piece of pound cake that the owner’s daughter proudly told me she made herself at checkout.The service was 5 STAR. PERIOD.The family atmosphere and amazing food will have me driving back to the Westside for another meal soon.
I promise I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant. They’re food ? is always on point just so delicious. It doesn’t matter what I get I absolutely love the food here. Whomever the cooks are keep up the good work.
Went there Saturday 1/29 at 4:00. There were only 3 tables with customers (8 people total). We waited 15 minutes before the server acknowledged us although she walked by our table several times. Having checked out the menu prior to arriving we were ready to order but when the server got to our table she would only take our drink order. Ten minutes later, I ordered the ribs with greens and mac & cheese, my husband also got the ribs and greens with fried potatoes & onions. My ribs were good, my husband's ribs and potatoes were burnt. The greens and mac & cheese were outstanding. We also got banana pudding to go and were disappointed that it was basically just vanilla wafers with a little bit of pudding. Then when my husband went to pay the check (our server was standing next to the cashier station at the time) the cashier got snippy when he asked her to give the change (tip) to our server.
This place is legit. Without a doubt some of the best food you will have in the entire city, with amazing prices. This is hands down the best chicken Alfredo you will ever have, and I don't think you can get better greens anywhere. They are divine, I think about them on a daily basis. The ribeye is amazing, always cooked to perfection, as are the ribs. Everyone that works here is as nice as can be, and the owner Marlon takes so much pride in his restaurant and has so much passion about cooking, he is great to talk to. He will often give samples to first time customers. Don't miss out on Crown's Kitchen!
Came here last minute with my family, just happened to be in the Cheviot area. I saw the menu, and that they had good reviews so we stopped in. Breakfast was delicious, many options including pork free, and the eggs were soft and fluffy, but the crown jewel are the potatoes and onions. The flavor in each potato is absolute heaven. The staff was so nice, and friendly to our children. And the owner was nice enough to bring the kids a snack while we waited for our Food, and let us try his delicious greens and ribs that he had started for lunch. I'm not even a fan of greens but they were delicious, and the ribs super tender and flavorful. You can tell the owner puts his heart into his work. Can't wait to order again. Finally tried this establishment (Friday evening) and I wasn't disappointed at all. Called in my order, ordered the Rib tips, and asked the employee what sides they like and they said greens and mac and cheese. So, I ordered both. Meal only comes with one side. Meal also comes with cornbread. Will definitely come back and try other menu items.
