I honestly can't believe how good this place is. I have been to ramen shops all over the world and this is by far one of the best. The noodles actually have texture and bounce unlike many places I have been. The ramen broth was clean and full of flavor. This was my first time having tsukemen "dipping noodles" and it was phenomenal. The pork chasu was very tender and every bite was amazing. We came back the next morning and had the kimchi croissant and of course it was good. I highly recommend any local or traveler to come here for amazing food.
First of all, the pastries. I'm forever different after trying the everything bao bun. There's a reason Chef Elaine is up for a James Beard award as one of America's most outstanding bakers.Next, the ramen. We went back for a dinner seating, and the food did not disappoint. Vegetarians usually get the shaft when it comes to eating out with lazy dishes that have no complexity or thoughtfulness, but Cafe Mochiko shows so much love to their veg preparation. Their vegetarian ramen is RIDICULOUS; and the fact that they always have a veggie version of the weekly ramen on the menu has me weeping with joy.
Our first time at the cafe and we got a mix of savory and sweet bakery offerings. Each was better than the next, none were a disappointment. I can't wait for the chance to try the ramen next.
Very polite and knowledgeable staff. A fan of the mochi donuts and their dinner menu! Displays a quaint and well decorated seating area. They don't offer carry out when you dine in so order everything you want to try. Didn't see tables to seat parties larger than 4 as they were mostly circular. But the food is amazing!
They have a Toto washlet!
Get the Cincinnati style ramen whenever it’s available. Interesting twist on Cincinnati chili
Baked goods during the day? AMAZINGDinner in the evening? FANTASTICSmall, but very deliberately well-crafted dinner menu. Changes weekly, and I have never been disappointed by the food. My favorite menu staples are the miso eggplant and karaage. Ramen broth is always rich and flavorful.
honestly was not that good. we were looking for a different ramen dinner place to try and we thought this placed look tasty. our dishes were not very good for the price and tasted kinda bland and undercooked. the staff and the setting were amazing, but the food was not so great. maybe their bakery in the morning is better, but the dinner was a 2/10
Always delicious savory and sweet pastries. their coffee is great too!
Excellent experience. It was busy but the atmosphere was quaint. Lots of traditional Japanese decor. Food tasted authentic and savory. I liked the wagyu beef burger and chocolate sea salt cookie. Service was excellent. It was a little bit pricey, but you can tell the food is made with high-quality ingredients. (Everything is more expensive due to skyrocketing inflation and national labor/product shortages...)Overall, an wonderful experience. I highly recommend.
