My favorite bakery when I’m in town. Today I wanted to reward my team for their hard work. Made a quick visit to Busken’s Bakery and donuts and danishes where all on sale….. I couldn’t stop myself and purchased 3 dozen ( I only came for one). Plus and extra one for myself. Staff is wonderful, the shop is spotless, I highly recommend! Thank you for showing you care about your customers.
We hosted a small family wedding this past week. Everyone was SO PLEASED with the wedding cake! It was DELICIOUS! I had emailed the cake decorators with specific instructions and they did a spectacular job! The cost was so reasonable!! We will definitely order any special occasion cakes from Eastgate Buskins again!
This bakery is well stocked and usually has friendly staff. However, I've been there three times and twice now I've seen an older white woman make black people wait to be served, regardless of order. The first time, I didn't even realize the black women hadn't been served until after I put my card in, because they were waiting by the register and I assumed they were waiting for a cake or something. Nope! And at that point it seemed like I was an accomplice to that bs! I apologized and so did the older woman so I thought it was an honest mistake.Second time, myself and a black man walked in at the same time and a family in front of us told us they weren't ready. I also said I wasn't ready and told the guy to go ahead. The same older white woman walked up, looked at the guy standing right at the counter and then pivoted to the family! The father says, no, we let them go ahead; she looked at me and I looked away so she'd know I wasn't ready. This woman tells the family to just take their time and go ahead with their order and the kids are ready so they do (I guess to gtfo asap, reasonably), then a black employee came out and helped the guy and myself.Idk if this lady is genuinely racist or just pretending to be, but either way if you can go to another donut shop (there aren't many around here), do so. If you can't and you're a POC go ahead and add 5 min to your wait time. If you can't and you're not a POC, try to help the POC get served in the order they arrive, since the shop apparently can't.
I am extremely stingy with giving away 5 stars. Busken deserves it. They are by far thee best bakery in all of the greater Cincinnati area.They're chocolate eclairs are awesome!
Good selection of cookies, pastries and more. Friendly service and decent prices for baked goods. They are not gourmet by any means, but tasty nonetheless.
Been ordering cookies from here during last 15 years and really loved their skinny cookies they had years back for the Christmas season but they haven't had them since . Crowded around 2pm on a Thursday. Picked up 2 boxes smiley faced cookies and 4 donuts s jelly filled a cream filled and 2 cheese things. The donuts were alittle dry not soft either. The lady that helped me was sweet and she has worked there for 36 years!!! The cookies were going to my uncles in S Carolina for the week. They were great and didnt last but 3 days.
Everyone was very nice but this was one of the worst German Chocolate cakes ever! Cake itself wouldnt hold shape when attempting to get it out of pan (single layer in aluminum foil square pan) as it was not moist. Topping was awful! Way too thick slab of dry crumbly coconut and old tasting pecansis not slightest resemblance to a good cake. $10 for what was NOT a fresh well made cake!
We love the walk up coffee window that would be open on the weekends over the summer. Coffee was fantastic as well as the fresh glazed donuts. This is a family friendly environment and even puts out water for the dogs as its right along the running path.
I went later in the day so missed out on the wonderful cheese crowns and pecan Danishes, but I manage to get in on the Bengal madness with some cookies, 2 rockets and a brownie...all excellent but not what I really wanted. I was advised to come early between 7am and 8 to be successful...Look out Sunday morning ?
