We stopped by this place before leaving Cincinnati after staying there for a we. This place is a gem. This place is an oh-my-god bakery where you want to buy and taste everything. I bought some sweet pastries and salty croissants for the road. It was so delicious. A real taste of France for us because the croissant dough was so perfectly made like you can find it in France. The staff was so kind and welcoming too Definitely a five stars spot.
Brown Bear is THE BEST bakery definitely in Cincinnati— probably the whole USA! Everything I have ever had from there has been truly wonderful. The owners are so kind and courteous— they remember all our names and we have developed relationships with them over the years. Get over there and buy yourself a croissant or a focaccia of the day! It will make everything brighter! ❤️
One of Cincis best bakeries! Staff treats you so well, and there are no wrong options as all is very tasty! Come early or order ahead of time before they ran out of inventory!

Wonderful local bakery with the friendliest staff. Welcoming and always offering interesting seasonal specials that will tempt you back for more weekend after weekend!
Everything was delicious and lamination was perfect. We came right before closing so unfortunately they were sold out of a lot of things. Make sure to get there early. I really appreciate all the wonderful flavor combos.
1, Absolutely perfectly baked pastries.2, Unique baked creations that you would have never imagined on your own, executed perfectly. I think my personal favorites over the years have been a rosemary/blueberry jam cookie, an earl grey croissant thingy, and a candied ginger and pear tart. Just buy whatever catches your eye. We've never been disappointed.3, The *nicest* staff ever. I love every person I've ever interacted with. One time we brought friends who didn't know what to order and the staff literally walked them through each pastry and pointed out favorites and were super helpful and friendly. Sometimes we'll come in and stuff will be low stock and they'll be apologetic, but it's just because everybody loves you as much as we do! We can't complain about you being *too good*.I think everything is cooked in an environment of love and friendship... We love you Brown Bear Bakery, and even though we've moved, we try to visit every time we're in town (and bring our friends with us!). I don't care that I don't always get a pastry because they're all sold out. There's always next time.
Brown Bear is the cutest little bakery in OTR! I recently swung by for a treat. My boyfriend approves of the coffee, which is a high compliment because he's picky, and I had cake...for breakfast. And let me tell you I would eat that cake all day long. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of their baked goods!
