Restaurant half full. Refused to seat people. Totally ridiculous! I have watched a lot of Bar Rescue over the years....John Taffer would be livid! On the upside...the food is good and prices reasonable! A tip of the hat to the cooks! They totally crushed it while the wait staff stood around and sulked. Whoever owns this place should be pissed! Easily lost 2000 dollars in revenue tonight! Patrons we actually offering to help clean tables (me included) as was obvious the staff was slightly overwhelmed. The staff said they would get in trouble. It's a shame...I would have doubled my tip. Their loss!
... as Americano's website was inaccessible (just a few days after I checked it from home) & their other social media sites were very dated. So my wife & I walked a block from our hotel on a Monday night to their storefront to find out if they were still in business, with a backup dining plan a few blocks away. Lucky for us & the others drinking/dining there (and for future patrons), Americano was up & running. Prices are typical downtown scale, but the interior space is pleasant & comfortable for a business lunch or after-work gathering. The sole waitress was doubling as bartender. but she managed to keep up with service in double-time as did the small food prep staff. Our burgers were cooked to order (well done but still with good texture), with both the Americano Burger & Carolina BBQ Burger generously topped and among the best tasting we've had. We shared a side order of well-prepared & tasty sweet potato fries, and left with our bellies full & satisfied. Persistence paid off, and we would return.
Prior to the panny this was one of our spots we frequented. The food was good, good music, and good people working. Fast forward. Everything on the menu is cooked different. The fries aren’t fresh cut anymore, burgers are greasy and the wings which we’re good smoked/grilled wings are just regular deep fried now.
Amazing wings. Tried the dry rub and the honey sriracha. Dry rub explodes with flavor but not overly spicy. Honey sriracha has some heat and just a touch of sweetness. Really loves that the sweet didn’t overpower the heat. Good beer selection, helpful servers.
Food was meh. Service was less than desirable. Would have probably had better at Chili’s or a comparable chain restaurant. Nothing to write home about in the least. Save your time, money and frustration and pop over to Goose and Elder or Nation for a much better experience.
Big fan of the atmosphere. A lot of space. I got the Carolina BBQ burger and thought it was good overall. The buns are nice and hold up well to the grease of the burger. Patty also tasted good. However, I'm not sure there was BBQ sauce on the burger at all, and the bacon was too crispy, like I was eating bacon flavored crackers (maybe it just comes down to personal preference).Other than that, I think this place is absolutely worth checking out. A lot of other burgers on the menu that I hope to come back and try later.
I will start by saying I only venture to Americano once a year. It is a tradition that my husband and I, along with our neighbors, attend the Home and Garden show and then cap our evening off with some juicy burgers. We typically expect a wait as they are usually quite crowded. We were surprised to find that was not the case this time. There were a few other diners. We were immediately greeted by one of the two wait staff on that evening. She prefaced our experience by stating they were short staffed, as is the motto everywhere right now. None the less service was prompt and our server was very nice and attentive. I did notice that their menu had changed quite a bit. Gone were the multitude of burger selections and they had removed my favorite, the rosemary garlic fries. The table ordered two Americano burgers with eggs, fries, onion rings, hot wings and sweet potato fries. Food came out quickly but without napkins or silverware. That took a bit to aquire, but once we tucked in the conversation all but stopped. Everything was so good. I wouldn't call myself a wing specialist, but I've had my fare share. These were some of the best I have ever had! The meat was tender and juicy, the skin was crisp without being hard, and the sauce brought the heat but had tremendous flavor as well. Though I didn't try the burger, the blissfull food coma that my companion fell into was testimony enough. With the glow of a really good meal upon us, we didn't even mention that they forgot the egg on one of the burgers.
Stopped in for a Saturday lunch. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Met the owner. Highly recommend !
Today was a different day at my use to be favorite burger bar. Still great service yet the kitchen staff feel has changed. No consistency and the food anymore and when I turn away a burger for being burnt the chef really got upset when I asked for it to be made over because it was too crispy to taste anything he became upset like it was the servers fault. COVID must be taking it's toll. Servers attempted to make up for kitchen, yet you can hear and see the upsetment on cooks face as he glared out across the counter looking for who sent the food back. Wow! Don't get bitter make it better. May have to find another burger spot now. It was good while it lasted.
BEST BURGER AND FRIES I have ever had!!! Very flavorful. And ADAM (the bartender) makes THE BEST Long Islands!!! He makes them with fresh ingredients and you can tell the difference. If you are ever in Cincinnati, you must try this place out.
