We were there just last night and I got to say the service was beyond excellent. You are truly treated like family and I feel like every time I thought I needed something it was already on its way to the table. The food was more than generous in portion. Even though the restaurant was busy the food was still out with perfect timing. Thank you Amber India we will be back!

I order lamb chops with rice as well as the spinach, cream cheese and lamb combo. The food was delicious and Spicy to my liking

Located near University on Ludlow, small but clean joint. They have their own free parking behind the restaurant that is a plus in a tight area. Went for lunch.Friendly staff ( most looked like members of family) and clean interior with cloth table covers. Clean cutlery.Wanted to try Choley - Bhature; but was told the Bhatura had to be ordered separately for a separate price ! Customarily they are served together in a platter ( I have eaten at many Indian restaurants and not seen this concept of ordering). So instead of that ordered saag paneer. and garlic naan: Naan is quite big in size as compared to other Indian places I have been to. Saag panner was tasty and could have used some more paneer , very very greasy dish and the fried paneer cubes did not help: could not even eat half my dish ( maybe its suitable for young students that frequent this place) I would not order it againSamosas ( 2 in a serving ) were big and lots of filling and a thin crispy crust : that is how it should be made ! Nice job! Chutneys were complimentary and tasty. I left with mixed feelings about this place.Overall price point is too high for me and food is more greasy than I care for : not planning to visit again anytime soon.

Enjoyed Hospitality , Good Taste , I bought their Amber non veg Dinner Thali which consists of pakoras , tandoori chicken, matar paneer , delicious lentil curry and lamb curry with rice and naan.

Stopped in for Friday lunch after a doctor's appointment in the area.Plenty of seating available.Food was very good and well seasoned.Fish vindaloo was well cooked.Chicken Tikka was very nicely done.A couple of Indian beers on the menu.Service was good.

Most Indian food in the area tends to taste about the same anywhere, but Ambar seems to be a step up in terms of quality.Prices ordering online through doordash are inflated a bit, be warned!

Ambar is without doubt my favorite Indian restaurant in Cincinnati. The food is consistently delicious and the service outstanding. In all the years I've been dining there (many), I've never had one negative experience. The people who work there seem more like friends than restaurant employees. I've brought out of town guests here and they have enjoyed it every bit as much as I, commenting they wish some place this good existed back home.On an interesting note, I have a friend from India who dropped off some chicken curry made with his family's recipe and home-grown herbs sent regularly from overseas to the family here. It was outstanding. Then a couple of days later I stopped in at Ambar and ordered the chicken curry for comparison. Ambar's version was very close, but better in subtle ways - smoother and more complex. I also ordered a side of raita, which was as always thick, creamy and rich with chopped vegetables.Although I cannot fathom how any dining establishment has managed to survive the last two years, much less without sacrificing quality, somehow Ambar has not lost a step. I no longer work nearby, but am more determined than ever to support them on a regular basis.

When I was in grad school I used to eat here once in a while, and in the years since I moved away I probably haven't found another Indian restaurant that I like as much as Ambar. Visiting Cincinnati last week, I ordered it for take out and it was just as delicious as I remember! I love so many of their dishes but my favorite is definitely the vindaloo. If you get it, just be sure you're ok with spicy!

This is in thee top ranked Indian restaurants in the area! The main dishes are succulent and flavorful, with many different variations of Nan. This is a hidden gem in the area with an upscale feel but not the price. The prices might be slightly higher than the competition but the service and large portions makeup for it. You will have several meals. Plus they custom spice levels 1 to 6 and 6 is actually hot!

Indian and Pakistani food is great which matches the appetite of locals as well. The taste and quality of the food is greatI’m a frequent customer for ambarI have almost tried all the vegetarian menu.Saag panneer is the most liked dish by me .As this is located in the university area,This attracts lot of students in Cincinnati as well.
