when its a hit the food is amazing. we have been a few times and the brisket has been just alright. id recommend the pulled pork, cornbread, and peach cobbler.the owner and staff are really cool, Ive been and got to chat with the owner who told us about how he went to UC back in the day for fire safety and what inspired him to make food, he was super friendly. another time we were there and I think they forgot our order (we were waiting for a good long while), and they threw in a dessert to make it up. just really good service and good people
First visit after the renovation. The open front window and stainless bar were really well thought out. Ordered a couple of things since I was bringing someone there for their first time. Food was visually appealing and delicious. We actually spoke with the owner while waiting the short time for our food. Down to earth guy who welcomed our suggestions for improvement. It was a GREAT experience. Thumbs WAY HIGH. ???
To start with I was simply walking by. I smelled the incredible food, and happened to run into the owner outside. After speaking with him for over a half hour (nothing about the restaurant) I decided to try this place out for lunch. It was fantastic! The price was more than fair, the taste was incredible, and the quality of the food was superb! I will be back whenever I am in the area! I only gave 5 stars because I could not give more.
Best BBQ deal in town (both delicious and affordable). I've had the pulled pork, smoked chicken and smoked salmon dinners which comes with your choice of two sides, bread and sauce (or naked). I've tried all sides by now and they all taste good to me, but you can also order meat only. Either way, they come in regular or large (double the meat) sizes. I'll have to try their desserts next time.
I ordered smoked chicken dinner. The chicken is white meat so expect that but it does have good seasoning and the barbecue sauce was just as good. If the meat was a little bit more tender, I would call this a slam dunk but its more of a lay-up. Meaning its good but not great 6/10. The yams were good as well but missing something 6/10. The Mac and cheese was good and cheesy but a little heavy on the black pepper 8/10. The greens were great not spicy and very soft as they should be seasoned just right 10/10. The cornbread was just ok taste like jiffy 5/10. The tea however was a disappointment. Did not taste like tea at all and had a artificial sweetener aftertaste 1/10. There were no stand outs on this meal. If they could improve what they mix they would receive a better rating from me in my opinion. That tea was is horrible and needs to go and serve softer more tender white meat. The staff was excellent and the place was clean and not packed and the wait wasn't bad but the quality of the food needs to be better for the $28 dollars i paid.
I ordered the BBQ Turkey tails: were cubed. I've never seen that before and they were dry as well. The Macaroni and Cheese: was extremely dry. It also appeared old.The Coleslaw: was store brand having worked for major grocery stores deli departments helping with stock of that particular product. The service was nice and pleasant but not very fast. I will not personally order from there during my visits through Cincy again.??Best Wishes
Solely for the food.First timers so me and family wanted to get a good feel for the menu. Very flavorful. We tried the smoked chicken and turkey tips large dinners with four sides. Definitely going back. Owner was there and he is hands on which is a plus. It's Clifton so not a lot of parking, but certainly worth the walk and wait.
I ordered probably 10 times for delivery, so had high expectations in person. They were exceeded. Great service, great food, great small location with small wait time during peak lunch.Happy to have Alabama Que in Cincinnati and happy to support them. Recommended for authenticity of food, staff and whole small eatery vibe that CARRIES it all.
Everything is so good ? and it was my first time ❤️ The staff was amazing and very friendly. I’m very Satisfied with this soul food ?
We got together at work and decided to order online from Alabama Que. We do this all the time where everybody pays for their own order and one or two of us to go and pick it up and bring it back. We did that today with Alabama Que. When I get there I told them I was there to pick up three orders. They asked me for the last four digits of each card used for each order. I told them I didn't know the last four digits of the orders my coworkers placed, I only knew mine. They asked me if I could call and get the number so I called and got the numbers from my coworker thinking I would be able to go but then they wanted to take a picture of my driver's license. I was ready to cancel everybody's order right then. But I thought about my coworkers. And I let them take a picture of my driver's license. Needless to say I will not be returning to Alabama queue restaurant. The food was just okay. It's not all that.
