I have eaten at Sumburger my hole life since it started in1953 but today is the worst food I have ever tried to eat from there ordered sumburger plater out of Cole slaw burger was actually burnt bun was very dried out and hard wife ordered hammy Swiss plater again no Cole slaw no tomato again this place is going down hill fast nothing like bridge St was terrible food probably be my last time eating there
The food is good don't like the new place and setup it's clean mostly wait time is to damn long if your hyperglycemic you may die before your food to arrives. The cashiers up front were working so hard trying to keep it all together. They were really nice. Kitchen staff was slower than Mrs Butterworth on a cold winters morning and stupid and rude.
Cleanliness was an issue, every table had crumbs and debris, seats were sticky with dried pop, and the bathroom handle from the inside of the bathroom felt greasy upon opening it. Food was hot and served quickly after ordering.
Not the same as bridge st at all. The order was wrong and my son's cheeseburger had a hair on it. The fries didn't taste fresh and the staff were not all that nice. We won't be driving down from Columbus anymore. Very sad.
Very good food. Worth the drive
Wife and I were in the area and she was excited to stop at Sumburger. It reminded her of going every couple of weeks with her grandparents. HUGE Disappointment visit. Walked in, placed order: double Sumburger, onion rings, and bourbon chicken with rice. Handed buzzer and after an HOUR wait, wife went in to find out our food had been placed under heat lamps with employees forgetting to "buzz" buzzer. EVERYTHING was bland and dry. Place was understaffed and out of sorts. BUT we can now not trust the food. Crushing and Disappointing visit.
Anyone who knows Chillicothe, Ohio knows Sumburger. This location is not, however, the original location that began in 1953. That original location, like so many other things in life, was better than the copy. That's not to say that this location is bad. There is a slightly different taste but it is still very good and I would still recommend it as a must stop in historic Chillicothe. I always seem to end up with the classic Sumburger Platter with fries and a side of fried mushrooms. The drinks are not self serve so I recommend ordering a large. The ice is that awesome crushed ice. The mushrooms are usually piping hot so be careful when you dig in. I was surprised to see mobile phone lock boxes so you can charge your phone at the charging station and enjoy your meal without worrying about it being stolen. This seems like a great idea to keep kids focused on family time without phone distraction! Very nice touch!
Perfect Sumbuger like every one I have had.Hot, fresh, &DELICIOUS!!!!Went thru drive thru.
My partner and I are frequent regulars, I grew up with the original sumburger on bridge st, I so miss that place, the new one is retro modern. It's nice, clean, easy service, staff is friendly, the food is still ?. It's just not the same one I grew up with so it's very strange and different for me but I am getting use to the new place. My partner and I have a special both, It's our both we always sit at when we go there. I really love sumburger and consider this as the ultimate retro burger joint and a staple icon of chillicothe. I really encourage everyone to go and have a good dinner, they have a wide variety on the menu and the prices are reasonable for this day and age. I hope everyone enjoys.
The food was good. Our bacon cheese fries wasn't very warm. My bf liked his food. Imo the sum sauce and coleslaw was too sweet for me.
