Best Mexican restaurant in Dayton! I have never had a bad meal here. Food is authentic and delicious! I had the burrito MEXICANO for lunch today and it did not disappoint. The burrito came out with the Mexican flag colors as toppings on it.
I cannot believe the current review rating on this website. Based on my experience, I am inclined to believe that the rating is inflated by the company or by BOTS.My wife and I eat Mexican almost every week. This was our first time trying Chiapas and it was the worst tasting sit down Mexican food we've had in the Dayton area since moving here six years ago. The service was also the worst I've had in many years plus the server got the bill wrong. I will not go back.
A cozy Mexican restaurant with good food! I enjoyed eating at Chiapas, the food was good and so was the service. The restaurant is a little small, but there is also outside dining available if the weather is nice. The salsa was sweet, not spicy at all but it was still good. The chimichanga was also tasty and very reasonably priced. They have a few beers on tap and plenty of margarita choices. The parking lot is a little small but large enough. The staff was polite and attentive. I'd go back!
We have tried Chiapas twice. Quaint and cozy ambiance. I really want to like it but there’s too much better Mexican food in Dayton, from hole-in-the-wall to moderately upscale, to continue choosing this place.
The service was terrible he didn’t come over hardly at all. Did not ask if things were okay. Had to go to empty table for silverware and hot sauces. Ask for a menu then he came back in 1/2 and told me the kitchen was closed. Did take my order but was not happy or gracious about it. Acted like I was an Inconvenience from his friends. Worst service I have received in years
Small location but our booth which was way at the back, didn't feel claustrophobic at all. Love the colorful tables. The food took a bit longer than I usually wait at Mexican restaurants but the fresh chips and salsa made it bearable. I had the veggie combo; 2 cheese enchiladas with California veggies, rice and beans. My friend had the enchiladas chiapanecas and a tamale a la carte. Definitely worth checking out.
This is a great spot. Food is always good and quick as any authentic Latin eatery. Horchata is good and street tacos are some if the best in the area. Haven't really dove into the other items.
Great food! Awesome staff!
I really like this place I have dined there several times. I never had a problem until today. I ordered several items totaling $25.23 . When I arrived at the store I was given a bill for $33.00. I paid it and went home. After reviewing the prices on line again I called and told them of my calculations. The gentleman I spoke to said no problem I will refund you the $8.00. I went back to the restaurant and all of a sudden we were having a communication problem. I tried in vain to point out that there was a mistake in pricing. The gentleman who took the order over the phone feigned he didn’t understand me. Yet he made it very clear that he wasn’t going to give me the $8.00 back. Kind of sad. Now I have review whether I will ever order from them over the phone again.
I typically don’t have bad experience at this location, but as I eat my food I found a bandaid and bit into it as well. Disappointed about this. Probably will never go to this location again.
