My husband and I were in Canton for a few National Park visits. I looked up restaurants in the area. This one caught my eye. It did not disappoint! Friendly wait staff, old tavern that has lasted through the years, local place, good pricing and good food!!!!
This place gets busy! The wait was shorter that expected at 5pm. Service was great and super fast from ordering to getting our dinner. Fish is excellent and cooked perfectly. Hush puppies are a bit different very sweet with corn in them. The lobster bisque was amazing! Just don’t order asparagus way over cooked barely edible . Also onion rings were very bland with no seasoning in them .
Ill be honest, I have not been a lot in the past. I however did go on 2/11/22 and it was excellent. Prompt service, Comfortable setting, and best of all delicious food! Enough for lunch next day too. Hushpuuppies are grrrrreat!
Times change, covid hits, and businesses need to do whatever they can to survive. That said, this place still remains a staple in the Canton community. It's certainly not a modern looking bar, but the food is great, and service is excellent! IMO Jaime (Manager) is the glue that holds the place (and staff) together.
I had been here before a few years ago. I remember ordering the fish and it was hanging off the sides of the basket.... To my surprise this time... It was two tiny square pieces on a plate. Along with a small cup of Cole slaw, 5 hush puppies, and a bowl of lettuce and they called it a dinner for 15.99. Its a nice atmosphere and people have traditions of going here... But they definitely shouldn't change things for the worse.
Wonderful food. The fried fish was amazing. Great atmosphere, warm and welcoming. Will be a returning customer. Very happy with my experience.
The fish was very good and fresh , onion rings were delicious. It's been a long time since it has been this tasty! Must have a new cook keep him!
Best cod fish dinner (fried or broiled), hands down.
I have been going to Tim's Tavern for 40 years. They still have the best fried fish than any other place that I have been to. Thanks for so many rememberable meals shared with family throughout the years.
Excellent, excellent service. Food was great. Love the hush puppies. Fair prices. 25% discount for seniors on Wednesdays.
