I’m sure there a few good authentic Mexican restaurants in the area, but this is probably the best restaurant I have visited in the USA. I am an OTR truck driver and I also lived in Baja Norte, Mexico for 5 years. This restaurant is in league with the very best of the Baja. Come here when you have a few hours to spend and relax and enjoy. I had the Menudo.
Casual authentic Mexican. Large portions. Very good.
We always enjoy Las Penas every time we go!! The staff is friendly and treat you like family. Make sure you check it out.
Lunch Shrimp Fajitas, Lunch Fajitas Texanas, very good. Unfortunately, the dough on my wife's Chicken Casadilla (which they deep fry) was raw.The waiter apologized and asked if she wanted another order or something else. He did a good job of dealing with it. He had already been doing a good job. If the casadilla would have been done they would have gotten a four star rating. They lost the fifth star because they were out of iced tea at 1:30pm.I wish they had made what I saw in the container at the bar without alcohol. It was fresh fruit. Pineapple, apples, Oranges, kiwi, and others. It looked so good, but I was driving and couldn't drink. Maybe next time I can get a designated driver. Or maybe I can make my own with 7-Up.Mmmm. Their pink lemonade was really good.
Can't vouch for food, but must be good because I frequent here a ton for doordash delivery orders. At pickup they are always on time with having the orders done and go above and beyond in customer service attentiveness

Ordered the Piedra de Mar. It was decent...but very different than the description. No grilled octopus or tilapia.On the other hand...best guac in town?
So, first of all, I've had the food here a few times, been very tasty. Today I ordered online, waited the appropriate time, got there, order somehow didn't go through.Had to guess what the order was, because we ordered as a group.I got the huarache, and IT WAS FANTASTIC.If yall get the online sorted away, it would really help.
Nothing impressive. Slow service and it wasn’t busy. Food was bland. Our family won’t be back
