I stop here every now and then on my lunch break from work to get a couple slices and a drink. I have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and a great food.
The quality went way down hill fast, they made a good new york style pizza for a while , but now there crust tastes like white bread, the sauce tastes ketchup, and the cheese tastes like the planting bag it comes in if they get back to the quality it was then I may go back because they where one of the only places that made pizza close to back home in Boston, now it's your typical ohio white bread with ketchup and plastic, it basically little caesars.
My best restaurant reviews always contain a non-food component. We can get good food at home, usually for less than we can go out for. And the quality of what we put together ourselves is usually higher, if nothing else, better known. In the case of Camellone, neither holds true. But I'll get to the price and quality in a moment.Something you need to know about this small eatery is that it is family owned. It's a labor of love and pride that you won't find in many chain restaurants, if any. You are reminded of that as you first enter and are welcomed with a very sincere hello and an even more appreciative thank you as you leave. Being truly valued as a customer is part of a good dining out experience. And while I waited for my order to be prepared, I witnessed each guest treated the exact same way, whether it was to pick up a to-go order, place an order to go, or just stop in for a $1.00 drink. This is likely my only chance to ever eat here, as it is far from home and far from any stop I will likely make in the future. But for the brief time I spent there, I was treated like family and truly felt the very most important thing to these wonderful people was that I enjoyed my experience, from the atmosphere to the food.Speaking of the food, I ordered the pizza baked spaghetti. Everything is made fresh at Camellone's and is locally sourced. The ricotta cheese was substantial in the dish and really tasted fresh and flavorful. I think it really made the dish and complimented the not-to-sweet sauce, fresh pepperoni, mushrooms, and pile of melted mozzarella. As it was being prepared, I wondered if the portion might be a little small. I started looking at the display case and contemplated getting a piece of pizza as well. The assorted pies displayed looked delicious and cut in large triangles. But my spaghetti came with a side salad (crisp lettuce and fresh veggies, obviously, and more of that fresh mozzarella). By the time I finished my spaghetti and salad, there was no room for more. As much as I wanted to taste their pizza, I had to resist. The portion was a perfect size. Why wouldn't it be? These people know what they're doing. And that, with a can of Pepsi, cost $10.99. You can go to a fast-food restaurant and throw a run-of-the-mill, processed meal for the masses down your gullet and pay more than that. And you might still feel unsatisfied afterwards.Do yourself a favor if you're in proximity to Camellone. Grab something that rivals anything you can make at home, for less than you can make it yourself, and let the friendly, caring staff make you feel like a family member just home-cooked it for you.You won't be sorry.
I’m so happy that I discovered this place! If you like New York style pizza, this is about the closest you’re going to get in the area. It is a little pricey though. I ordered an xtra large specialty pie with a piece of tiramisu and I think it was about $30. That being said, the pizza was enormous and the crust is fantastic.
My delivery was stolen by the driver? Had to pick up order myself. Pizza was tolerable, mediocre. Bland as can be.
Pizza is too greasy and the crust be burnt at the bottom.. I don't really care for it but my boyfriend loves their food he says it reminds him of home but he's not from ohio
Can't complain they normally have great food!! Hot fresh and ready !! Worth the money for sure.. my kinda Pizza..
Pizza was good although they're topping are over price due to the amount. Exp- bacon topping is like 1 string of bacon broken up for the whole pizza.
Love this place. The pizza is excellent. Stromboli is good.
Pretty good stuff! My only criticism is the pizza is a little too salty. Not to the point it's nasty, but it could stand to be dialed down a bit.
