I keep coming back to Sunset Bistro because I hope it will get better. My most recent visit will be the last, though, as our takeout order contained what was quite possibly the worst "Crispy Chicken Asian Salad" I have ever eaten. It advertised a sweet and sour dressing; it was a cloyingly sweet raspberry vinaigrette, which drenched the salad, rendering everything limp (note to kitchen staff: do *not* toss to-go salads!). Chicken was bland; nothing "Asian" about the salad (green peas scattered throughout; sad bagged matchstick carrots were impossible to differentiate from the chow mein noodles--also soggy). The executive chef should cut the menu down by half, focus on a few local dishes, and rotate it seasonally.
Absolutely Fantastic food! Highly recommend if in the area. I'm from Columbus and have eaten many good places. Will definitely come back next time I'm around ?Tip, get their house made bbq sauce for dipping ?
Food was great! Service was incredibly slow. We arrived at 6:30 and asked for a bit more time to choose an appetizer. This was a mistake. Our server didn’t come back for at least half an hour. We ordered an appetizer and our meals. We waited a considerable amount of time before we were served our soups/salads. We were all confused, as we never got our appetizer. Roughly 10 minutes later our appetizer came out, immediately followed by our entrees. The timing was completely off, and we didn’t get to enjoy any course of our meal. After waiting forever for food and service, it was all incredibly rushed. Our server never apologized for being absent for the duration of our experience, nor did she apologize or even recognize the poor timing. Disappointing considering the quality of the food and the price. Not sure that we will be back.
I truly do love this place. I'm not sure if my observations are covid related, however my review can be summed up as: inconsistent.Every time we order from here we have to change our order with Grubhub because they are out of certain items. The one time we ordered and got the exact items we wanted the container of rice was not secured in the bag and hot garlic and mushroom rice was EVERYWHERE.The seasoning can either be extreme (think garlic breath for daaaaaaays) or non existent.Don't get me wrong, the food is great (when you order in) and the staff is friendly.I continue to support this locally owned business but can't wait for the pandemic to be over so they can get back to the quality I was once spoiled with and so dearly miss!I admire that they are still pushing forward with operations as best as possible and are trying to be as adaptable as possible during the pandemic.
Prudence was extremely rude when asking questions regarding my order. I did clarify that she is the manager so that made it even worse. Would never go back.
Food is expensive, but that is not the only bad trait of this restaurant. The portion sizes were extremely small for what you're paying and was not filled up by the meals whatsoever.
110% recommend everyone try the Sunset Bistro! Food is delicious, service is excellent and always satisfying!
Curbside only - that was a surprise. They said they haven’t been open since before the pandemic. The patios isn’t open because of bees .
We have been going to Sunset for years. We have been going even more during covid because the food is good and it’s a local place working hard to keep her employees and customers safe. But there have been 3 issues over the last several months and the owner keeps sweeping them under the rug and quite frankly not handling them correctly at all. We are firm believers that if you are doing good you should hear it and we’ve always told her how much we love her restaurant. But we h
