Very Delicious...Ingredients seemed fresh, it was not overstuffed and blowing out the sides. I would eat here again for sure
Hours need to be fixed. About half the time I walk by attempting to get a burrito they're closed for the night. Majority of these nights have fallen on special event nights which are very popular amongst the university(such as st patties, green beer day, etc). Ownership or management needs to recognize this opportunity. Not only an opportunity to make more money for the owner, but an extra night for employees to make some money. Myself and over 20 other individuals walked by in a half hour looking to give pur business. Easily could have pocketed $600 extra.
Always closed late night on major nights!!!!! For just one example, even tho it’s Thursday, adjust your hours for St Patrick’s Day! The entire college is out on nights like this and they’re wanting to give you money for burrito on their drunk walk home. Open up! It’s business 101, the demand is crazzy!! Took my business to wings over instead and they were taking in all the orders.
This food is so good! I love every single bite with these burritos. The chips are great and the service is quick and easy. The people that work here are so nice! I recommend anytime!
They proudly serve pre-cooked frozen meat and eggs from Gordon's that they throw in one of their many microwaves to heat up and say it's freshly cooked. Once a magical place when you're in your early 20's and drunk, and absolutely disgusting when you're not.
It’s good but they charge 4$ for tater tots and barely give you any. I was pretty upset it was like barely a handful of tots.
I've lived in Athens since 2015, and have eaten Big Mama's off and on. Before the remodel within the last year or so, Big Mama's was the best place in Athens to get a burrito. There used to be graffiti on the walls inside, (much like that of Bagel Street), and it was extremely campus friendly. The burritos were always so fat, sloppy, and just the best treat. However, with the remodel, new style, and addition of Tommy's Dogs, Big Mama's just isn't the same. Burritos got pricier and they got lighter. Proportions are off and it's just not what it used to be, and I'm disappointed. It did better as a grungy burrito joint than it does a classy one. Chips and salsa have changed and I'm just sad. Stop trying to be like Chipotle and please bring back the original Big Mama's.
I could’ve never imagined it’d be that nasty. The ingredients are ice cold(including rice), canned chicken, cold shredded cheese. Very mushy, my boyfriend & I threw it out in fear of getting a stomach virus smh..$20 for what.
My daughter and I were in town doing a campus visit. We needed to eat lunch and this place caught our eyes. It's in an old building downtown, right off campus, surrounded by other restaurants and businesses. We walked in around 12:25 pm on a Friday and no one was there. Was concerned at that point, but I'm glad we stayed. Burritos are very good. We both had the chicken ranch burritos--the employee recommended it, and she was right! The chips are prepackaged Mission brand tortilla chips--would have liked to have chips made in house (deducted 1 star because of that). I had the mild salsa, and my daughter had the queso. Both were very good. Not much for seating there--just stools along the wall with a shallow shelf to set your food on. Restaurant was decorated simply but nicely. Thought the food was a little pricey, but given everything has gone up in price lately, maybe that's the new norm. My daughter intends to attend OU, so I'm sure we'll be back!
Great place for a burrito in Athens. Never have any problems here, solid service and there is no shortage of good options on the menu.
