Had a good experience. Checked out the menu outside, ordered inside, and waited outside for our food. We split a cheese pizza, which was really good! Then had the peanut butter banana bowl; it was incredible! First off, it was massive. I would recommend splitting it with someone! It was vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and marshmallow sauce with peanuts and banana. Pure perfection!
As a young man growing up in akron I use to get me n my family something good usually it would b ice cream but Mary ice cream has been at the same location since I was a lil kid I'm 36...... Mint Oreo.....Milkshake gotta b the best
My Grand daughter walked in to get ice cream and Trecaso's rudely stated" what do you want" obviously didn't like her color. Racist and rude! I will be posting on all social media sites
Been coming here since I was 9 years old in the 1950’s. The Ice Cream is still the same! Their ice cream menu offerings are the same! The best Ice Cream sodas, shakes, and Sundae’s hands down! My favorite is the Cherry Soda, with the original cherry phosphate! Yum!
I ordered a carry out Chicken Parmesan dinner. The breading and sauce delicious, generous portion size. Red Raspberry ice cream for desert.
The staff was incredibly mean, especially to children. I would not recommend. The ice cream was nothing spectacular.
Incredibly rude owner with bad manners and terrible customer service. I went to get ice cream with some friends. The menu is outside even when it’s 30 degrees outside. We had to check the menu outside, go inside to order, and then were told to go back outside - in the 30 degree weather - to wait. A few people were waiting inside for food orders to be picked up, so I asked again to clarify, and he again told us to wait outside. If I hadn’t paid already, I would have left right there. Even that process was annoying though. The owner seemed irritated that we were paying separately and with cards. He was rude and huffy, and the process took several minutes. Multiple papers and multiple signatures. We went outside in the freezing cold to wait, and when called back in to get our order, I asked if he was the owner, and he confirmed. I’ve been here before, and the servers and other employees were cordial and friendly. However, there’s no way I’ll support this establishment again due to the rude behavior of the owner. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
Ice cream ok but the owner let's you know he is in a bad mood. Also, they do not let you eat your ice cream inside even on very cold days when it's not busy. Would never go back
Super good food and a very rich tradition and history for a restaurant in the Akron area.The Trecaso’s menu items are legendary with baked lasagna and an amazing stuffed eggplant dish. Everyone loves the manicotti topped with provolone.The old location in the heart of the University of Akron district was a place were students and families would gather and it was know for its amazing pizza. At some point Trecaso’s bought the Mary Coyle’s Ice Cream shop in Highland Square. Mary Coyle’s is a standard tradition that was the location of many first dates for young couples.
The best Chcken Parmigiano sandwich ever and a Root bear float! Excellent!!!They were working their exterior signidge so it was a little hard to get in, but other then that, Excellent!
