There is few restaurant made me recall from time to time, this is the one. Been there in October 2021, ordered 4 appetizers and all of them are good surprise. I remembered all of them to today: Calamari, Poutine, beef foundue, Thai wraps. Big portion, great taste with fusion style, both of us savored them. The next day we went to a fancier one but it's not as good. If I ever go to Akron Ohio again, I will surely go back to this "Merchant Tavern" again.

Went there for dinner tonight and they said a hour wait for six so we said ok and put our name in and my wife and I sat at the bar ordered a drink and waited for our kids to get there. They show up and my pregnant daughter and son in law sit at the bar next to us and the bar tender comes up to them and tell them they can’t sit at the bar. We just sat down before them. They said the bar seats are reserved for dinner service and you have to wait for a seat. You can’t even sit and have a cocktail while waiting for your table. What??? The bald guy with glasses at the door was exceptionally rude and the bearded bartender wasn’t much nicer. Their overflow area where you are supposed to wait there isn’t any tables or wait staff and you have to go and get the drink at the bar. Place is run by nimwitts and their vodka sucks too. Never give them a another penny. Update. My son called and asked to have them reserve him two seats at the bar and they said that the seats are the bar are first come first serve. To bad because the food is good but the people running it are idiots.
Menu features burgers to well executed, upscale full dinners such as pork chops or meatloaf. Had the pork tenderloin salad on my last visit. Will definitely get again!
What a cool place. Part of the growing trend of crafty, almost "New American" restaurants, the menu offers fun dishes that will delight your taste buds. Your wallet, on the other hand, may be left writhing in pain, but not if you get appetizers/sides. The poutine made me feel stuffed!

We love this place. Everyone is always friendly. The bartenders make quality drinks and the food is delicious. Been here several times for date night and never disappointed! The atmosphere is great and you always feel welcome. Just a good vibe.
The food and bar are excellent. The atmosphere is nice. I am tired of being told...after having a reservation that I am on the clock. The hostesses could not be more rude. The speed of their kitchen and servers have something to do with the amount of time it takes to get through a meal. I only come back for the food and the great servers. I almost walk out every time I am told I need to be out by a certain time.
