Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and everything was absolutely perfect. It's some of the best sushi I've ever had anywhere. Also, the menu is extensive-- lots of Japanese, Chinese, Thai and even a few Vietnamese options. Plus, they have things on the menu that sound like authentic Chinese dishes in addition to the typical Americanized Chinese fare.
Really happy with our delivered order! Everything tasted so good! The scallion pancakes were crispy and warm. Ordered a boba tea and I was very impressed how they placed it in a small box to keep any possible spillage contained.The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The chicken lomein was delicious…if I had any complaint the noodles were slightly over cooked but was unbothered by it. Would definitely recommend!
Wow! Amazing! We will be back. The service was fantastic- walked into a clean well organized restaurant with everyone smiling and greeting my wife and I. My wife was alittle unsure so she asked our waitress what she would recommend for a sushi roll, after a few recommendations, my wife said "surprise me"- well the surprise was so good! We have no idea what it was but it was amazing! Also ordered mei fun noodles with vegetables- THE BEST WE'VE EVER HAD! We live an hour away and don't mind an hour drive for the best food and service! Food was pretty good - I like that there are lots of vegetarian options and my eggplant and tofu dish was delicious as was the fried rice. The server we got last time barely spoke English which made for some difficulty in ordering and some misunderstandings in what we received. We ordered scallop nigiri and it took so long to come to the table I thought they forgot about it, and when I bit into it it was still partially frozen. I've been here multiple times over a couple years and it is always freezing cold if you are dining in. I will try other options but may stick to takeout.
Very nice experience. Two combination sushi rolls. Very tasty.. white tuna with tempura shrimp and another with seared tuna. Both were fresh and the sauces were good. Wonton soup was good. Bit of seaweed was yummy. Also had the pineapple fried rice with chicken.. tasty.. no complaints. Service was quick and timely
We love this place! Not sure why it’s called Sushi Asia Gourmet when it is actually a famous Szechuan restaurant. Mapu tofu, garlic pork, beef noodles are all fantastic. I just found out this owner also owns the famous hot pot restaurant in Cleveland, Szechuan Gourmet. Gotta go there next.
Sushi Asia Gourmet is a gem of the Merriman Valley. They have classic Chinese-American favorites you'll recognize as well as a huge selection of traditional Chinese dishes. The sushi is fresh and delicious if uninspired but it serves it's purpose. If given the choice of any "Chinese" restaurant in Akron I'd pick Sushi Asia Gourmet every time. Tip: Try the Mapo Tofu.
We have been going to this restaurant for the last few years. We’ve had dates, family meals, business dinners, and even a very festive Christmas dinner for many people. Service is wonderful. It’s a simple spot but very clean and nice. The food… it’s incredible. I usually don’t get the sushi only because the Chinese food is fantastic.. I tend to shy away from restaurants that say they can do everything but here is the exception. Sushi is great. Standard Japanese and Chinese dishes are great. This restaurant shines on the more authentic Chinese dishes for me. Ask for the photo book. Experiment. Enjoy.
Ordered on doordash, my drink was unsealed inside of a paper bag inside of a plastic bag. I uncovered my order and to my surprise the plastic bag was leaking all over my bed and my carpet with the bubble tea I ordered. The restaurant didn’t bother to seal the drink or better yet just keep it on the outside of the bag so it doesn’t leak. I immediately called the restaurant to provide feedback that they should package the order correctly. The guy immediately blames the dasher (when it was not the dahser’s fault at all) and tells me to call doordash. I ask him to listen to me as I’m providing feedback to THEM, not doordash. He continues to talk over me and I hang up. Very poor customer service from this restaurant won’t be eating here again. A simple apology and offer to package orders correctly in the future would have saved you a customer.
Best sushi I've found in the area. Have gone there for dinner a few times and the service has always been great. Mostly do take out, but I drove past two to three other sushi options just to get to this one.
