this was our first time here. We had just written 10 miles on it towpath trail in Cuyahoga valley national Park on an 85° day and looked like it. We were just looking for a new Asian place to eat at and found this place. We had no idea what kind of place it was because he couldn't tell from the facade outside. I wish we didn't look the way we did, but it was what it was, we were hungry and it smelled delicious. This is a very nice, chill, swanky place. We went on July 2nd of 2022, so not only was it 4th of July weekend but there were are so protests going on downtown so it wasn't very crowded at all. We sat at the bar. The bartender was super nice and excellent at his job and being attentive to us. We ordered pork gyoza, Singapore noodles, and chicken in garlic, along with three sushi rolls. Everything was delicious. Probably the most savory meal I had in a long time. My boyfriend also ordered a beer and I got an iced tea. $99, but this isn't a place we would go to all the time and we were trading ourselves. We will definitely go back. It's also about a 50 minute drive from our house to get here but but is not going to deter me from eating there again.
We were regular customers at Cilantro in Akron before Covid for years and the food was always very good. We just went for the first time since the pandemic and I must say it was the most disappointing experience. We took guests from overseas and I was utterly embarrassed. The experience was so bad that I have written them off as a viable meal option for the future. The place was filthy. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks and the tables were not wiped down. The food was mediocre overall though the wonton soup was acceptable. I know that there is a shortage of staff in restaurants but this experience was inexcusable.
Top notch sushi, really good Thai food. Thoroughly enjoyed it, overall relaxing environment and good vibes. Prices are reasonable, ate a three course meal with two rounds of drinks, plus sake for under $50. Left feeling stuffed and overall the quality of all the food is extraordinary! Nice staff, attentive overall I give the place a 9.5/10 rating. Will be back again to try the duck for sure, cannot wait!
Everything I've had at Cilantro has been terrific. I particularly enjoyed the massaman curry and eggplant basil. These are dishes I've had at many places but Cilantro made them as well as I've ever had them. The sauces with the satay were also terrific. That's what has really stood out to me so far in my visits to Cilantro. I'm a sauce guy and their sauces are superb. I also really like the ambiance at Cilantro!
Decent meal, nothing to exciting though! Great environment, with large open view of downtown. Has all the flare of fine dining just expected a slightly elevated food to accompany. Not to say the food was not delicious just more average than the atmosphere portrayed.
Stopped in before our friend's boutique opening across the street - Velvet Vintage. This restaurant has great service, delicious sushi, and great drinks. Love the atmosphere and a very good vibe. We will be back when we visit downtown Akron. Very pleased!
Nice setting for a business lunch or just good Thai. The miso soup and green curry were really good. Expect to pay around 12-15 for most lunch dishes. Good service and nice place.
Very good, quick and reasonably priced. I ordered the Red Curry-Gang Dang...Delicious!We had a very nice dinner. The duck curry was tender, spicy and had a nice crunch of the skin! My girlfriend had the Cilantro roll and she loved it! It was not crowded for a Friday night. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.
Took a friend to dinner. The place was a bit cold temperature wise.But she’s a picky eater and we both liked the food although we’re not experts on this type of cuisine. Will try again!Edit: second visit not nearly as nice. The place was full on a Saturday which is a good sign. But both of us were sick to our stomachs the next day. Bummer! Downgrading to 2 stars for the unrequested colon cleanse.
Service was Excellent and we enjoyed the food.We had a great time here and will return again ..
