I had heard good things about this place, so took my wife up there last night to surprise her for her birthday. Everything about the meal, the drinks, and the service was spectacular. I found it kind of an odd location to put such a nice upscale restaurant for as we drove in, within a couple blocks we passed a small park area where some of the down-on-their-luck homeless seemed to congregate. It reminded me of some nice places I've been to out in Santo Monica and San Diego where you walk out of a high-end restaurant and are hit with the reality of society... Anyhow, about the experience - Natalie waited on us and was very attentive and displayed a genuine effort to make things special. For instance, my wife wanted a martini with anchovy stuffed olives - well, they didn't have any, BUT Natalie said that she would have the bartender hand stuff some anchovies into olives for her! I had a couple drinks myself, a Painkiller (which fell short of the benchmark that you get down at Soggy Dollar Bar in the BVI - I think it could use a little more coconut milk), and I got a smoked Old Fashioned which I was delighted to see that they smoke-infuse this drink (Only thing odd about it was that it was served over a cup of ice, whereas I normally like mine with one large solid cube of ice, but aside from that, the drink tasted awesome.) We got the calamari appetizer, which was really good and cooked just right - I would have liked to have had a little more of the aioli sauce as it only had a light slathering of it on the serving plate. My wife got their halibut special and it was one of the best pieces of fish she or I have ever had - cooked perfectly and a nice size serving. I went for the double cut pork chop and it was, again, cooked perfectly. We also got a bowl of the cavatelle w/ vodka sauce to pick at and it was above average and on par with something you would find at a restaurant in Little Italy. yeah, it was a pricy meal as the bill came out at $200. All in all, besides the little quirks I mentioned, none of which gave me any pause to consider sending anything back, this was a great and memorable birthday dinner for my wife. This definitely wont be our last time dining here. I give the owner credit for investing in Akron with this caliber of a restaurant and hope the gentrification of the immediate area continues. Well done to all.
This place does no disappoint! Wonderful to see employees with a great attitude and service oriented! Everything was delicious. Appetizers and we had the specials for dinner. Short rib was cooked perfectly and the halibut cheeks. Very different selection of cocktails. Other than dinner they also have a speak easy (members only) and private room rentals with individual cinemas viewing areas and dinner.
I reserved the screen suites for my fiancée’s birthday on 5/14/2022 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The suites were complete with a private dinning area, a private bathroom, and private movie theater. It also had a small TV in the dinning area where we could play music while we eat. It also had a candy station in the event someone wanted candy during the movie. The food was good but not out of this world. The meatball appetizer was really good, you only get one but it was tasty. I had the burger which was good and my fiancée had a ribeye steak. My other friend had the salmon but for the price it was a really small portion. The service was a tad slow but they were so nice and accommodating. I was really bummed because the service was so slow we didn’t get a chance to eat and then watch an actual movie and we had the room for 3 hours. Towards the end of the meal the restaurant was closing up and the server showed us the rest of the establishment. They have a cigar room, a regular dining room, speakeasy, and a vault room. Everything was decorated really nice as had a lot to offer. I have it a 4 out of 5 stars because of the service time and the quality of the food vs. the price. However, If you’re looking for something different to do, visit this place!!!
This place is a diamond in the rough. You have to see it to believe it. I did not do the regular dining experience so I cannot speak to that. I paid for the pass to the lounge and the private screening room and it was unlike anything I have done before. I would recommend for that special night out because it is pricey but very much worth it. The service was great. The atmosphere blew me away and the food was delicious with portions that satisfy. My wife and I sat at the private bar and had drinks before it was our scheduled time for the screening room. If you do this I would suggest that you pay for 3 hours to allow plenty time to eat and enjoy your movie.... and know what movie you want to watch before your visit. They have all streaming services so the choices are almost endless and you could spend all your time deciding on a feature. See the the pics below. I did not get a full pic of my plate but you catch a glimpse of the large scallops and full view of my wife's strip steak. The private eating area had its own bathroom, we had a small screen playing Amazon music with a remote to choose our dinner music. After getting full we purchased sweets from our private candy section and it was off to the second part of the room with the movie screen and plush movie chairs. Fair warning they recline all the way with your feet up and on a full belly could very possibly put you to sleep..... trust me.
New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami in Akron. Absolutely spectacular, As a fellow restaurant owner I’m humble by how amazing the ambience, the service, and incredible the food is. So many fantastic dishes to mention and as a group we asked them to make us multiple meals and we all shared everything. From appetizers all the way to desserts Alexander Pierce will not disappoint. Will be back many times I’ve already booked another occasion and if you’re here ask them about their incredible other dining experiences at this restaurant which includes movie rooms, cigar bar, and private club. A one stop shop for the best of the best from Cleveland to Cincinnati in Akron. Nothing like this exists in the area and kudos to the genius of Emily and Nick of bringing dining to the next level.
As soon as we walked in the door on a freezing February evening we were received by 2 lovely ladies! One promptly asked for my coat and whisked it away as we found a seat at the bar! The young lady there talked to us about what we would like to drink tonight! It was warm and cozy and we chose cocktail and wine appropriate for our dinner choices! The food was artfully plated and delicious! We loved everything and will be returning for out next special date!
We have heard so much about this restaurant and couldn't wait to finally experience it. All we can say is WOW!! ...food was prepared to perfection ...and service was excellent! ...decor accentuating historical Akron is a "lesson" all on its own. ...eclectic and cool. ...enjoy! Rick & Barbie
I travel often and always find the best seafood place to visit when I am out of town - Ive been to some really expensive places and NONE compare to what I have in my own backyard. The food is amazing. The people are amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. I love this place!
We have dined here twice now and both times it's been outstanding, I marked the noise level as energetic but I think that was a fluke, the party next to us was very happy and one gentleman had a very distinct and gregarious laugh. They were having a grand time, so, who can complain. Our experience was wonderful, we both had a Caesar Salad with our meals, that dressing was one of the top 5 I've had in my life. Everything from the servers to the atmosphere here are great, the cozy feel and exceptional food make this a great spot for Akron, it would easily fit in Dallas, Los Angeles or Honolulu, it's just great.
Had a great first time experience at Alexander Pierce. Dinner was delicious. Their martinis are fantastic. Dessert was truly the best part. Best chocolate cake I think I've ever had in my life.The service is what stood out for our dining experience. From the host,. servers, and the bartender ensuring that my drink was perfect for me.It's been a really long time since I've had such really good service at a restaurant. Truly you're treated so warmly by everyone there. You are not rushed for your dining experience. The service alone is every reason why I will go back.
