I have enjoyed Applebees in many other states but I wasn’t happy with this one in Grand Forks. I came to enjoy appetizers that I usually do. (1) the food portions were smaller than what I am used to in other places…the pictures for the waffle fries online on their menu look like there are a bunch of fries but I didn’t see many on my plate, (2) the chicken wonton tacos were lacking any flavor except for the skin which was a fun and light version of wonton crisps but in shell form…the tacos only had mayo based coleslaw and the chicken (but I asked to Substitute ? Shrimp and the friendly waitress said she could have the kitchen Substitute chicken for Shrimp so I was happy at first BUT when the bill came I was charged $4 that she didn’t tell me about which confused me and disappointed me because the waitress said a substitute was fine and didn’t tell me I would be charged extra), (3) the chips with the spinach with artichoke dip had way too much salt all over them so I had to rub it all off from each chip. (4) salsa for the chips were too spicy. I won’t be returning to this Applebees. But that’s mostly because I was told I would be able to substitute shrimp for chicken so I assumed that meant, in any food establishment, that it would mean I am not charged. So I didn’t like that I was not told or given a choice of keeping it all vegetarian with extra veggies since I don’t eat chicken or any kind of meat. But I would be afraid of being charged for the extra vegetables daré I ask.
Our server Kailey was good. However, the hostess was not. We had a party of 4 including a baby. she wanted to sit us at a tiny booth with a baby sling in the center of the walking path. We asked for a larger table but ended up being denied quickly with a unreasonable attitude. Ended up being seated at a smaller table with the baby sling still in the center of the walkway (which is a safety hazard and any restaurant staff should know that.) Food was ok
applebees is usually good but this one in grand forks is not. the waiter made me and my mother feel uncomfortable but we assume he’s new so it’s alright. The food however, was good and tasty but now paying for it because me and my mother both got food poisoning. Should have just went to the buffalo wild wings across the street with better food and service.
Went for a couple drinks here. The bar was nice. It wasn't packed when I went and the bartender was pretty nice.
As a delivery driver, if Kenzie is working, you are greeted immediately and given your order or a status update right then. Any other server in this restaurant will ignore you even after making eye contact. Have not had the opportunity to eat here myself yet.
It was really quick service, but they put only 2 really small pieces chicken in the food.
The menu is false advertising or not specific such as not say seasoned French fries or comes covered in black pepper only which I'm highly allergic to. The fish says crispy fillets but came soggy and greasy and both cold. Of course I wasn't going to pay for mine since couldn't eat it plus smell was making me choke so waitress took it back right away and my friend she got same order which was cold and soggy also which she tried a bite of each so asked waitress for small to go container for our mozzarella cheese sticks since 3 were only ate ok no problem. Waitress took friends food since she said she couldn't eat it since cold and soggy n greasy fish, ok get bill was $30. Like really, waitress took food away before she brought our To go container for cheese sticks which was only thing left on table so like really think a cup of coffee n mozzarella sticks are $30. Then try say mgr in a meeting I'd have to wait to talk her, hum we waited 40 minutes as it was for food mind you it was 4 ish afternoon and not busy and we had 2 hour drive home yet. Very disappointing to try applebees first time cause supporting the new hit country song rave um no thank you waste money and time. had to stop and spend more money at KFC, closest place on the way out of town atleast there coleslaw was cold lol. we needed food for long drive home in the storm from picking up washer machine only in grandforks.
Usually love Applebees. Picked up our order for carside to go and I didn't get my fries or my sauce for my oriental roll up. Also couldn't customize salad for my husband's riblet platter since he can't eat cucumbers. Better luck next time.
AWFUL. Literally the Mac'n'cheese is so gross. Got 2 one for me and one for my bf to go. The waiter was so kind but when I got home to eat it. YUCK. Almost no sauce. Advertising 4 cheese and it tastes like a frozen meal from the microwave. It looked like butter noodles. We then tipped them over on plates in hopes the "sauce" was at the bottom. Nope. Barely any and it wasn't cheesy AT ALL. Extremely disappointed and payed $15 for both. The chicken then tasted like straight honey. Whatever this new recipe is its horrid. The old recipe was amazing. Idk if it was just the cook or the new recipe but definitely will not be back. The picture on the red plate is our leftover noodles we tossed. Couldn't even force myself to take another bite. And the other picture is what it used to be when it was good. Used to be my favorite place to get Mac. Sadly not anymore. Do NOT order the Mac whatever you do. EDIT: I did have 2 pictures but deleted one the one from Google showing what the Mac used to look like and they were using that picture in their main photos instead of the real one what it really looks like. So now its gone applebees stop false advertising. Your Mac is hot garbage.
Seated immediately, had food brought out in a timely fashion, and the well done steak was fully cooked but still had plenty of moisture to it
