I hate to leave this review. I ordered from here through Bitesquad because all the reviews were positive. I am almost no stranger to African cuisine and food of other countries. I ordered 2 Sambusas, Kaykay with chicken curry and two meat with rice (fish and chicken).For one which has no bearing on the restaurant, I had zero notification that my food arrived. So if that had any effect on my meal I hope someone could reach out.I'll start with the fish and chicken . As I opened the bag, something just smelled off. When I took a bite of the fish it was soggy, and had an off taste. The chicken seems a bit on the tough side, like a reheat microwave kind of texture. The risk of the fish not being okay I tossed it out.EDIT: 6:32pm 3/29/22I honestly don't feel like this restaurant cuts corners and from their response you can tell they take pride in the food they put out. I think I just had a poor experience due to not having the best delivery experience.The Sambusas sadly I also couldn't eat. All I was able to taste was this old oil flavor. I had to toss those as well.EDIT:EDIT: 6:34pm 3/29/22Again I truly believe the food sitting out was the real culprit. They did smell amazing and the filling looked appetizing. It's a shame I couldn't get a true taste of their food.The Kaykay with chicken. I was looking forward to this the most and it was very underwhelming. I don't know if it was because of the other things but my stomach was already turning sour. I opted to just toss everything .Maybe this is one of those places that it's best to dine in. Maybe it was just a fluke. Maybe it was because the food sat for an undisclosed amount of time. Sadly I had to throw 60$ worth of food in the trash. Maybe if I'm in the area I will try them again.As for bitesquad, I voiced my concerns and they refused to credit back my funds. They did suggest to call the restaurant for a refund but honestly it felt wrong in case it was the delivery that was the problem .* As per Bitesquad the food would have to be returned to the restaurant to receive a refund. It makes sense however I ordered delivery because getting out to the restaurant was impossible and also I'm not going to dig in my trash bin (the one you drag to the curb) either. Id literally have to tip the whole thing over and that thing is pretty disgusting.EDIT: 6:36pm 3/29/22I'm not someone who is paid for reviews, I'm just someone who truly enjoys food. I appreciate this business practice because I wouldn't be surprised if some people cheat the system and ruin it for everyone else.Im all about supporting local business and believe we need more eateries like this. Sadly my experience wasn't awesome. I still suggest going there yourself and trying them out. However err on the side of caution if you are using Bitesquad and dont live nearby.Lastly, I truly feel this food is probably delicious if not for all these circumstances, but for the experienced I received I couldn't justify giving them a higher rating.EDIT: 6:37pm 3/29/22I raised my rating from 1 to a 4 because I couldn't truly rate the food.However I am able to rate the people and I did see they responded to this review. People who don't care wouldn't do this. I really do hope I can really try them fresh when I'm nearby.*All my reviews are from deliveries using services like Doordash, GrubHub, etc. This may change the overall quality of the product.
Great food large servings that were still easy to finish a great dining experience all around. Aromatic taste in the air amplifies your appetite and the dishes satisfy the expectations created
Yummy! I just left and this place was so good! I ordered the KayKay with Chicken! Also I noticed they had a postcard on the wall that said liberty and justice for all. I love people who love America. I will be back!
Tried it for the first time. I had the rice and chicken, which was delicious. Will definitely be coming back again. Staff is super nice too!

Great food. I tried goat curry with rice. It was awesome. Little more rice would make it a great deal for the price.
Tried this for the first time tonight from a recommendation of a friend. Had the Kaykay chicken curry and it was phenomenal. It was a big portion and was reasonably priced. It tasted so good! I can't wait to go back. Definitely entered my restaurant rotation.
I recommend Rugsan because it’s very friendly staff very welcoming clean place very delicious food I would recommend Kaykay chicken one of my favorite dishes at Rugsan And will go back
This Place is more than a Restaurant ! It represents the beauty of East Africa. Delicious food, perfect cleanliness . The family Runs the Restaurant in a very mixed professional and East African traditional way . Everyone in fargo should visit this place
