I went in to try them again. We were seated promptly, but waited about 40 minutes before leaving. We watched our server take care of 4 tables that came in after us(there were a total of 8 tables occupied with 2 servers tending to them.) This isn't the first time that I have been sorely disappointed, it will be the last time that I go in though. I didn't wait to see if our server was going to get drink refills(the host got our drinks) let alone take our order. I have went to so many places that serve you within 5-15 minutes.
Got the strawberry topped crepes with eggs and bacon as a light fresh breakfast. Upon pickup, they put the container on its side so everything was covered in strawberry sauce. The bacon was more forgiving, but strawberry soaked eggs is disgusting, and the two crepes were very disappointing with no filling. Strawberry crepes should have more than had a strawberry topping when it’s advertised to be smothered in strawberries. Could have made a better breakfast in my kitchen and not wasted my money. It just wasn’t what I ordered. My husband got a classic eggs and sausage breakfast which was fine, but not worth getting again.
Was seated 25 minutes ago, and they have yet to come to our table to even ask about drinks. Took 55 minutes to get drinks from the time we sat down, was 30 minutes after we ordered. Two of ordered salmon and we fort completed different portions. The good was good otherwise and notified the manager of the poor service and was given 45% off the ticket.
Little more quality food than your usual diner. Prices are a little higher proportionately. Real cut of ham, large egg, quality hollandaise, large English muffin with my eggs Benedict. Fruit was only melons, but they seemed freshly cut and good tasting. Muffins seem a little smaller than in the past and seemed a little on the pale side today. Dining area was very clean and well taken care of, but is getting a little dated and worn. Staff were experienced, polite and efficient. Booths are a little cramped, but are nicely separated with dividers. Location is a little awkward to drive into.
I called to place an order for pick up and the woman that I spoke to seemed like she couldn’t care less about what I wanted. I listed off various things and one of them she said they were out of today which is no biggie, after I was done all she said “okay sounds good” and didn’t say anything else. I then had to ask how long it would be until it was ready and she told me 5 minutes which I didn’t think seemed long enough for everything I ordered. She also didn’t ask for my name or phone number or any info. So I drive down to the location and go in 10 minutes later and tell her I’m here for a pick up order. She looks at me and says “it hasn’t been put in yet” so I go take a seat in the waiting area and she looks at me from over the counter says that two more items that I wanted they didn’t have today so that left me with one item. I told her she should’ve communicated that to me over the phone and told her not to even bother putting my order in and I walked out. She was dressed in managers clothes so I would’ve expected something much more professional than what I got. She also seemed as though she may have been under the influence. Talking very slowly and almost like she didn’t know what was going on. I’ve always loved Perkins but I will not be coming back to this location if I’m going to have the same person as a so called “manager”. I’ll add too that the restaurant was not busy today. Maybe 5 cars in the parking on lot so it’s unlikely she was distracted by other things. Be better Perkins :(
Food was good, long wait, but they are very short staffed as of this review there were 2 servers and one was doing double duty as the hostess/check out person. The manager came out half way through my meal to help host which is disappointing because she should have been on the floor from the start knowing they are short staffed when its the busy breakfast time. I get them have other work to do, but its also your job to help and support those you manage.I would return, just unfortunate they are short staffed so you may need to the patient currently.
I'm so glad to eat at a Perkins again. The ones in the Twin cities are going away fast. Had a splendid dinner the other night. Great manager too! Stay tuned, I will be visiting again soon!!
I loved it, just like everytime. The only problem I made out, and the only reason I didn't give it five stars, is the employees. It wasn't their fault, exactly. They were really stressed, and some of them had been there since really early in the morning. But our waitress looked fresh, as I she didn't look tired, and she wasn't the best of employees. She did her job, and only her job. Didn't make us feel welcome, only came back once, and the place wasn't too busy, especially in the spot she was working in.But that's just one. I did notice another waitress that was amazing at her job. She was ks kind, and so bubbly. I don't know who's there the rest of the week as employees, but I wasn't too impressed with our waitress. Any other employee was either really, really tired, or just overwhelmed by the rush, that had been going on since before 9am, and hadn't let up till after we came in.Hostess was ok, very very stressed and tired. Wait was really, really long, but that isn't the fault of Perkin's. They can't help all the people that want to eat there.Over all, if you want a delicious place to eat, if you're ok with sitting for a little while, this is the perfect place.
Horrible service no said anything to us while we stood to be sat while they looked at us and proceeded to walk in the back and every where else, finally after 10 minutes someone seats us we sit for almost 20 minutes didn't see a server then watched the lady who was suppose to serve us serve two other people knowing she sat I'd way before them, then the manager on duty was walking around asking where everyone parked, got to our table and told her where we parked and she said that's a fire lane (not marked at all and is parking I've parked there plenty of times) and told her we have been sitting here for 20 minutes watched our server serve two other tables, we hadn't even been greeted, manager could care less when I said we were just leaving. I have served and bartended before so I understand being short staffed and take that all into consideration, but that was absolutely horrible and I never wrote reviews but this one needed it.
I have always had a soft spot for Perkins for a lot of reasons, but after my last couple experiences I don’t plan on going back ever. Last time I ordered for take out and was missing items, called over the phone and had it arranged to be fixed, then when I arrived nobody knew what I was asking for even though I just called in.Tonight I went with my wife and both waitresses were at the till, and neither acknowledged us or the gentlemen who had obviously been waiting already to pay. The restaurant was relatively empty too. We waited 10 or so minutes while no one was upfront, when the waitress finally returned a family had just walked in and she seated them before us. We walked out at that point, went to Ihop and were instantly helped and seated despite there being multiple customers.
