This was the best dining experience I've had in years. The ambience was quiet and elegant but also warm and friendly. Monte greeted us and showed us to one of his signature booths that fans of his previous restaurants will recognize. The service was peerless. Our waiter made great recommendations and was polite, cheerful, and professional. The food was perfect. Their menu has a great array of choices, each paired with unique sides. Everything was delivered to the table promptly, but not rushed. The bill was very reasonable and well worth the expense.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here on our anniversary. Greeted by Monte, the owner, and host who gave us the seating option of a window view or in a romantic clam shell, we chose the clam.Our waitress was Molli who was a delight to talk to and made excellent recommendations.We had the antipesto, meat and cheese plate (shown below), for an appetizer which was delicious.For the main course, my wife had the NY strip and I had the ribeye. The steaks tasted great, cooked to our desired temperatures and the sides were wonderful as well.And for dessert, the hazelnut cake with apples and vanilla ice cream was gone so fast. We both loved it.To make the experience top notch, Monte and Molli checked in regularly to see how we were doing. Monte shared stories with us and made the dining experience like no other I can compare it to.We love it here and will be back.
I have no idea how they can make a $38 steak taste like $100.It was the best steak I've ever had I think.I like the whole vibe of the place too. It feels cozy yet luxurious. The dim lighting keeps the mood very calm as well.The staff was beyond friendly too.
First, Sam at the Lounge was very attentive and made amazing drinks. My GF was one and done! The Margarita was amazing. We also had dinner reservations and I must say the GM Monte was very friendly and always checking if our needs were met. But, we assured him Jessica our server was doing a wonderful job. I would recommend 84 to friends family and will be definitely be coming back. Also FOOD WAS GOOD TOO!
Completely exceeded my expectations. The best cocktails I've had in town for sure and the food didn't disappoint. Service was also phenomenal.
Had my first experience here last night and it’s was so amazing. The food, drinks, and service were all top tier. Our server Dee-Jay was on the ball with everything from the start! Thank you 81 Steakhouse for making my Friday night amazing!
Had a beautiful dinner here and it was a rather exquisite experience. The food was tremendous, the cocktails were so good, every appetizer and our meal was absolutely delicious, our server felt more like a friend than someone just serving our table. I highly recommend to everyone!

Very upscale dining. Beautiful setting in downtown Fargo and it's awesome to have Monte back in the FM dining scene. From appetizers to steak the menu is exceptional. And the have brought Clam Shell seating back as well. Highly recommended.
