I started with an excellent martini, prepped by Paige. On her recommendation, also enjoyed a superb porterhouse. Sadly no vegetable to accompany, because of a supply side issue. Paige a terrific bartender and server, the sort of engaged and informed person one would expect behind the bar. Enjoyed the discussion and the food and drink.. Peacock lucky to have her.
Ever since they started playing around with virtual franchises the quality of the this place has gone straight down the crapper. Over the past few months every time we have eaten here something is either missing from the order, food is prepared poorly or the presentation of the food looks like a 1st grader was let loose on their moms kitchen. Not to mention I have been told to my face by employees that the GM comes and goes as he pleases. It’s a shame because Peacock used to be great. Now it’s nothing more than a sub-par Applebees.
Their manager Greg (who seems to never actually be at the restaurant) was finally gotten ahold of by me after not receiving the items in a takeout order I paid for. I had ordered an appetizer, a chicken caesar salad, and shrimp tortellini. I never received the tortellini, and the cook who I picked it up from said I would be refunded for that item. It took me every other day of a week calling in to reach him since Greg is never in attendance of the restaurant he manages.Long story short, I never wanted a refund for the entire order, just for what I didn't receive. Greg not only didn't refund me for the one item missing but told me that his cooks never told me I would get refunded AFTER he confirmed with me that there was no tortellini on the day that I ordered it.As someone who has worked in a successful bar/restaurant before, someone like Greg at Peacock Alley is absolutely someone you do not want to hire to run your business. Aside from that, the staff was fine! Just terrible leadership. I never got a refund and Greg from Peacock Alley is by far the worst manager of a restaurant I've ever experienced in Bis/Man.And unfortunately, this is the first negative review I've ever written and I hope not to write another one again.
enjoyed it very much, will be back more often as we havent been there in a while
Peacock used to be a place my husband and I went for specialoccasions. Our first anniversary dinner was spent there and it was so special. During the last couple years, and especially yesterday, our experiences have been so unfortunate. After a table of 10 of us (who showed up gradually) all got drinks after an hour of being at the restaurant, our waitress finally returned and did not ask it we wanted food but I prompted her to take out orders. Food took 45 minutes. We ordered at 7:30 p.m. When our food came, what used to be my favorite fries in town were definitely Ore Ida frozen French fries heated up. Such a joke. My husband, who ordered asparagus, had the lamest excuse of an asparagus I've ever seen. No explanation offered for the long wait or the less than acceptable food. Not worth the price of the meal, that's for sure. So irritating. We spent 2 hrs 45 min there for a waist of time and money.
I keep trying to give this place a chance because the food CAN be good. Went on a date with friends and we knew the service wouldn't be great, they're understaffed like crazy. But the food wasn't even that good. One plate sat under the heat lamps so long the fries were crisp... as that plate was forgotten. First world problem, completely. Just seems like a lot of money to spend without balance.
I was a diner at your restaurant on Saturday evening. I ordered the pork tenderloin dinner and was very disappointed with the meal. The meat was overly done, dry and tasteless. The rice appeared to be instant rice that was totally unappetizing. I believe there is a problem in your kitchen as steaks ordered by others in my party were also overdone. The server was attentive and very efficient but the food was not acceptable. As we were under a time constraint to get to the Symphony that night, there was no time to address these problems that night.
Peacock Alley is a gem in downtown Bismarck, ND and its location is walkable to and from many area businesses and events.

The waitress did a great job. That being said the food was below average. The bartender was clearly super sick, hacking constantly while making drinks. There is no way it was appropriate to be at work bartending in that condition.I hate leaving a bad review, but that was my honest experience and I would never go back.
