This was my first time eating at Waldo's in quite some time and it was outstanding! Service was great and the food was better. I had stopped going there because the food quality had fallen off. They have redeemed themselves! I had garlic romano wings and fried Zucchini. They have changed the breading from beer batter to some other concoction which I'm not a fan of. Bring back the beer batter please! Sorry guys...I forgot to take photos. Waldo's is once again my favorite wing spot!
My family and I scope a new place to try every time we come to Winston Salem. Today we chose Waldo's Wings. We were very impressed with how friendly our waitress was and how clean the restaurant and restrooms were. The food is impeccable and they have a menu for everyone's palette. We were equally impressed with the Manager. So kind and friendly! We will definitely be back!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Decided to grab lunch to celebrate Father's Day before noon today. Entered establishment and was seated promptly. Restaurant had maybe 10 tables max seated. Staff ignored us for close to 15 minutes and even resorted to waiting on 2 other tables that arrived long after we did. The waitress working the section we were seated in literally walked past us 6 times with not even a word spoken. My family and I ended up walking out. We have been showing patronage here for the better part of 8 years. Whoever is operating as manager currently needs to train staff immediately.
The Waldo's Wings Experience ( Call-in/Pick-Up Edition). I was conflicted about getting wings or a salad or both on this day. So, I called Waldo's Wings and ordered their Buffalo Boneless Bites salad with specialty sauce (Hot) made with bleu cheese crumbles and crispy bacon on a tossed salad, served in a tortilla shell. I asked for no bleu cheese and bacon. I specifically requested cheddar cheese instead of bleu cheese and was told the salad would come with cheddar. Whoever took my order appeared friendly and provided me with a 15-minute pickup time.Once I arrived to get my food, I encountered a staff member on their phone. I waited a while and did not disturb, and someone else behind the counter had to tell her to get off her cellphone to assist me. Once home and ready to eat, I noticed I did not have any cheddar cheese on my salad. However, I was pleased with the number of boneless bites I received; but the amount of salad was minimal. So would I return Waldo's? I am not sure if I would return to Waldo's. It has been years since I have been back from frequenting their original location up the street from where they are now. However, I seemed to have liked them better then.Although I received a nice portion of boneless bites, I was not impressed with the taste. The tortilla shell took up most of the room in the to-go box, and if I had it my way, I would have liked more salad than receiving the tortilla shell. Moreover, I am unsure if whoever took my order listened to me or focused more on their phone. While on the floor working, cell phones should be out of sight. I have often said this in my post in the past for other establishments. Business owners of restaurants pop in on your staff, call in, and invest in secret shoppers so that you can know what is going on in your establishments when you are not there! People will let your service, dreams, and everything you built in your business go down the drain if not managed correctly.
I was disappointed just for the fact that it has changed so much. I went here a lot when I was younger and loved the experiences I had. Waldo's was the place to go, to get the hottest wings around. Literally watched people turn red with sweat pouring off them. I ordered medium buffalo wings, which were pretty warm before, but there was no heat at all. I tried a hot buffalo wing and it was more like a mild/medium sauce. The wings were swimming in oil, not something I like. The bread was a little bit rubbery. Most of the staff seemed friendly, our waitress was a little bit more on the " I'm old and tired and you get what you get" side, but on the bright side, the wings weren't hot so we didn't have to have any refills anyway.
Since it's owned by Zoe Michael you know it's going to be good. She really brought this place back from the ashes, improved the menu and the food and created another top notch place to eat in Winston. Love the food. My only complaint, and why I didn't give 5 stars, is the cooking staff's inability to make food to order. It never fails. if you want them to hold the tomatoes or add extra onions, you might as well send the food back as soon as it gets to the table because it's going to be wrong. Apparently, literacy is not a requirement for Zoe's cooks. This is a real issue when ordering food to go, because you have to check each container to find the ones they made wrong. I love Mama Zoe's, I love Waldo's Wings, I hate having to return a simple order because the brain dead teenager making my food doesn't bother reading the ticket.
We was staying the night close by and we are from Waldo OHIO which is why we picked this place. Absolutely the best wings I have ever had. The Pittsburgh Burger with the STEELERS was also awesome. Highly recommend going to Waldo's Wings.
My experience is always great! If I go in and dine service is awesome and food is great. When I order take out there is no long wait for pickup, service is friendly and my food still tasty! They have the best wings in town; spicy yet flavorful. Broccoli cheddar bites and fried mushrooms are my goto apps.Prices match quality.
My favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem. Delicious wings in a variety of flavors with a good amount of meat. Lemon pepper dry rub is 10/10. Good potato wedges. I've been several times with my mom. A great takeout option.
Seated quickly, server was amazing. Food was hot and delicious.
