TJ Deli never disappoints. They have the best sandwiches and homemade ice cream in town! Make sure you try the Almond Butter Crunch ice cream.
My wife and I decided to stop in for our weekly Friday lunch date. We walked in and it was very busy! Customers wait in line to place their orders at the counter. It took just a few minutes which allowed us to look at their menu. My wife decided on the Thai Crunch salad (shredded lettuce, red cabbage, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, cranberries, pecans, crunchy chow mein noodles and grilled chicken served with oriental dressing and in a fried flour tortilla bowl. She ordered it without mandarin oranges. I chose the Cham sandwich (chicken breast deep fried, ham, provolone cheese served on a hamburger bun with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I ordered mine without the tomato and mayo with a cup of Italian vegetable soup. We then took a seat. The orders are then called by order number, ours took about 10-15 minutes. Everything looked yummy. My wife quickly decided she really liked the salad and said she would definetely order it again. I also thought the soup was yummy but felt the Cham sandwich was just okay. They also have a counter on the far end of the restaurant specifically for their homemade ice cream. We were far too full to try it but will stop in the future! Overall, this was a positive experience and we will be back!
First off I have always loved this place. However my order last night was just ok. My roast beef club had little to no meat on it and was a sloppy mess. The fries were ok but not the fries that they have always had and loved. My chicken and rice soup seemed watered down but it was still tasty. I'll try again. Hopefully it was just an off night.
Quality has definitely gone down since getting new owner. Hamburgers no longer seem freshly ground and are thin and dry. Chicken tenders have too much breading and cooked in too hot oil so outsides are overly done. Onion rings not nearly as good. Used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Never had a bad meal under former owners and always great, friendly service. Recently ate there and asked staff person who was cleaning tables to clean ours . He cleaned it but never spoke even when I told him I appreciated him cleaning the table which was dirty. Have tried to give new owners a chance to settle in but hasn’t improved.
Called them to ask I'd they had gluten free options..."We have the bread" So, your sandwich meat and toppings are safe? "I don't think so. We just have the bread."I'm a little blown away here. If you don't know ask a manager...guess this person was ok with loosing my whole family's buisness over just me wanting to be able to eat too.
Our favorite restaurant in the Triad for great American food and the best ice cream you can possibly find. Truly a unique and wonderful place to eat. I go here with my daughter bi-weekly for some quality time after gymnastics.
This is the place to go for chicken tenders. So delicious and the Turkey Reuben was enough for lunch the next day. We always go to TJs when ever we are in town visiting family. We have tried other restaurants chicken tenders all the way to Florida and nothing beats coming to TJ's deli.
Have ordered take out four or five times in the last couple of months and every single time they get something wrong with the order, including entire meals missing. Tonight they went through my order while I was standing right there and assured me everything was in the bag, lo and behold I get home and a whole meal is missing. Zero attention to detail. Have learned my lesson, won't be coming back here which is unfortunate because their food is wonderful. They have a silly sign up at the counter saying to check your order before you go because they "make mistakes sometimes" but a) the restaurant is ultimately responsible for fulfilling orders correctly and b) they make major mistakes literally every time I order. It's absurd.
First time here the food was amazing so I came back. Quality of the food depends what you order. Super happy with my grilled chicken hoagie but the last time I got the chicken tender wrap it was cold and was nothing but chicken breading on there. Unsure if return for the price. ?
Great selection to satisfy everyone. From tenders, to burgers and salads and sub sandwiches, you'll be able to please everybody in your group. Many great side dishes and a super nice staff make it a great place.
