Great food and great service

This place is amazing. We ordered Chef's special and the salmon was raw but the outside was cooked. Didn't know that but the lady was nice enough to explain what happened and why the fish was raw and the outside was cooked. The service was really great. The atmosphere was fantastic and food was a little sweet. But loved it overall. Please go and enjoy yourself.

I ordered a sushi roll and was shocked when they brought out a roll with tuna scrape on it. For anyone who doesn't know, tuna scrape is ground fish meat. It's scrap and it's potentially dangerous. There is not excuse for serving tuna scrape.

I had high expectations because of the great reviews but think most people don't get the sushi at this location. I ordered chicken satay as an appetizer and it was fine. For the main course I ordered sushi and it was beyond terrible. They brought out ground meat fish as the sushi. There was no warning or description that they would bring such an abomination or an excuse for sushi pieces out. It's unsanitary and frankly dangerous to serve people ground fish meat. I've had sushi hundreds of times over the past 20 years and have never had an experience like this. There is no excuse.

We arrived 50 minutes before closing so I suppose the absence of service from our waitress was related to end of shift duties. Food was good, hot and freshly made, looking very appetizing. Pricing is pretty reasonable for a quaint sized restaurant such as this. Worthy of another visit.

Service was great! I really enjoyed the Mooping appetizer but it got cold pretty quick, but that probably wouldn’t be an issue if you were sharing. The spider roll was not as crunchy as I’ve had at other places. The panang curry was pretty decent. I only finished the appetizer and spider roll. Prices are similar to what you’ll find at most sit down restaurants. Nothing extraordinary, but still good.

We were driving by thru town and wanted some sushi. The only reason for three stars is they didn’t have a high chair for my 9 month old so I had to keep her in the stroller. Lastly one of the sushi rolls we did get (the plain roll at the bottom of this picture was disgusting) no flavor so we didn’t even finish it. Customer service was great tho, our ice tea was refilled about three times while being there.

I really love their Satay Chicken and Egg/Spring roll. Food presentation is perfect and staff were very attentive too!Just giving 4 stars because I think the coconut milk soup would be better when you make it with more thickness. It’s a little bit watery for me or maybe it’s just preference. Been to a lot foreign restaurants around the area and you’re my #2 so far. ?

This was my favorite place for sushi ? but they have not had a chef ?‍? FOREVER so now I have to travel to the Greensboro location which I don’t get to do often enough. Service is always top notch and restaurant is extremely clean. Giving 4 stars ⭐️ only because they have been unable to prepare sushi the last 5 times I have called.

I have eaten at Basil Leaf Thai many times over the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. The owners and staff are very friendly and always make my family members feel welcome, whether it's for a sit-down dinner or a carry-out. They sadly lost their sushi chef during the latter part of the pandemic, but I'm happy to report that they have hired a new one. Huzzah!
