Service and food were good and quick
I had never been to a Thai restaurant until this evening. This restaurant had awesome food and beautiful and delicious sushi. The staff was nice and helpful with any questions we had.
I walked to Thai Harmony after the valet at Hotel Indigo recommended it. It was a good, not great, experience. Once I was seated on what appeared to be a slow Sunday night, I waited about 10 minutes before I caught a server's attention and asked if I could order. She seemed embarrassed, as if I'd been overlooked by everyone, and from that point forward the service was attentive. Food quality was also good. My curry dish was served hot and fresh, although somewhat "soupier" than I've had in other restaurants. Prices are reasonable. All in all a good experience; I'd go back.
I love the noodle soup with the crab meat dumplings and other delicious things. I always add extra dumplings and shrimp. That’s a 10$ upgrade. But it’s worth it. Last few times the dumplings have been terrible. Spoke to a manager she said next time call and they would make sure everything was perfect. Great customer service. So tonight I call and was reassured the kitchen would give me perfect dumplings. They get here and they are RAW! But not only that, the meat inside was RAW!! And now no one will answer the phone.
My husband and I went here for lunch and it was delicious! The spring rolls with the peanut sauce was outstanding! I asked for a medium slice and they made sure it was just that for me. Good service and clean atmosphere.
We ordered miso soup, duck noodle, stir fried fresh ginger, and nua dad diew. Everything was great except for the nua dad diew, this was the whole dish I was provided. “Deep fried beef, roasted rice, and cilantro sauce”? This is a few leafs of bagged lettuce and 4 pieces of random beef.
So unfortunate, but this place has definitely fallen off. We ordered the Thai Roasted Chicken which had been a favorite of ours. The first time we had it about two years ago, we were floored that it was so delicious. We thought it was the best roasted chicken we'd ever had. The sticky rice that comes with it was uniquely sticky and tasty. Over the last couple of years, we'd order the same Thai Roasted Chicken and each time it did not disappoint. We talked about how we'd bring friends from out of town here after the pandemic.Tonight however, was a big miss for Thai Harmony. The Thai Roasted Chicken was bland and extremely dry. My husband aptly said, when you have to drench the chicken in sauce, that's a problem. We never had to do that before. No sauce was needed because the chicken was well seasoned and crispy enough to stand on its own. But tonight, it tasted like a rotisserie chicken from a grocery store, warmed over. We also ordered Pad See Ew (wide noodles) which is a favorite of mine. I order this at every Thai restaurant we go to, so I'm familiar with how it's supposed to taste. This was not it! The sauce was way too sweet and the noodles overly peppered. It varied from the traditional taste of Pad See Ew entirely too much.Thai Harmony is on the pricier side for a Thai restaurant so we expect the food to be excellent. Unfortunately, tonight it was not. And it was so far off, that we'll be striking Thai Harmony from the rotation. It was good for a while and we'll remember when it was at its best. Hopefully, other diners will continue to have a better experience than we did, but they won't likely get another chance with us. Best wishes.
Very disappointed. My initial experiences with this restaurant were great, but tonight was a huge let down. My partner and I ordered soup that was never brought (but charged anyway), and the sushi....The rice was bad. Hard and cold. The fish was mealy and while the flavors were fine, the textures combined with slow service (I understand lots of restaurants are still struggling for hires right now, but it was also a very empty space tonight), and not receiving part of our meal just made for a disappointing experience and I don't think we'll be back.
Thai Harmony is in the middle of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Although their customer service could use a little improvement, their food was excellent. When I entered, as it was in the evening, and not busy, I requested a booth. However, I was informed that booths were reserved for large parties. Yet, they sat me at a 2-seat table, which for the remainder of the evening, only 2 people, as I observed, were seated at booths. So then, why couldn't I sit at a booth if 2 people could sit at a booth, or even the 2-seat table I was sitting at as an individual. That's unprofessional. All parties of 1 or 2 should have been rejected for booth requests, as it supposedly was "only" for larger parties.
Worst service I’ve experienced in a long time, from wait staff to “management” (who apparently had no authoritative power). This place has gone insanely downhill. What a joke.
