Food is great but a little pricy for some items .have seen improvement's over the years food is hot and fresh
Really good Southern food. Reminded me of the Bell Brother’s restaurant that was here for many years. The fried pork chops were flavorful, pinto beans and cabbage were wonderful. I will be back. Pleasantly surprised!
7/12/2022 So i had to take my Aunt to a Dr appointment in Winston ive heard boss lady on the radio go on and on about this place.We where not impressed at all bake chicken was cold and no flavor no seasoning very bland but it was cooked well rice was not done and the gravy was not hot either beef ribs was cooked well but no taste the BBQ sauce was not thick enough to stick to the ribs green beans where good collard grens just ok i ate them but they could use more seasoning mac and chesse was a no ? not trying 2 be mean but SOUL FOOD cant be rushed and you have to season it that's is where the soul of the food comes to play just step up on the taste i didnt take anything that set this place any different from other so called SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT
I was very excited to try this restaurant that was recommended to me! I’m halfway through my meatloaf and notice this ! Don’t get me wrong the food was delicious but this was and is just unacceptable!
I've been here about 4 times now. The first and second time was absolutely amazing. The sides are always amazing. For me, I have to order fish or chicken because it's guaranteed freshness. It's hit or miss here sometimes, but overall the food is really good, depending on the time and day.
I went with 3 of my coworkers. Our food was good - nothing extraordinary. It was set up buffet style. The menu offered basic southern type items. I had a veggie plate - which consisted of 3 veggies - green beans, mixed greens and pinto beans. Also, my coworkers were served meatloaf, baked chicken, mac and cheese, yams, We had no complaints.The location was just okay. They put music on halfway through our meal which helped the atmosphere. The highlight was that the servers were very customer oriented.
Had my daughter's birthday/graduation party here. As always, Sabrina gave us 5 star service and provided us with a full staff and great food. My guests loved the food and hospitality. Thanks again Taste of the Triad!

I honestly do not like posting negative reviews y'all. But I'm very far from impressed. Chicken was dried out and my sides were planned and flavorless. Customer service attitude wasn't all that either. I asked for extra butter for my rolls and the girl brought me a small ramekin with no more than a quarter inch of cheap liquid butter in the bottom of it. And then she gave me a dirty look when I asked if I could please have more. I do not recommend wasting your time.
I love their chicken, mac & cheese, and yams! The service is wonderful and we even stayed for live jazz.
