I liked the seafood and the service was good. Definitely coming back. The sweet tea was just ok but I liked everything else.
The fish and the chilli soup were off the chain. This was my first visit to this particular Showmars, here in Winston, but it certainly won't be my last. However, I wish that they had the fried squash there like they do in Charlotte. I'm looking forward to going back soon. Keep up the good work Showmars!!! Great service as well.
Great Fish and shrimp plate - Fast, fresh and hot! The best tartar and cocktail sauce in town. I hadn't been to a Showmars in years and now that we live close to one, we plan on becoming frequent patrons. High marks for remaining consistent over the years!
I finally made it! I wanted to try the shrimp and the flounder, so I ordered the combo entree. My sister got the fish sammitch and fries. The hype isn’t hype, it’s true! Everything is lightly breaded and fried fresh to order. You order at the counter but then they bring it to you. They also kept stopping by and refilled our drinks, refilled sauces and brought to go boxes. In my opinion, this counts as table service. The manager also stopped by to check our happiness. For the record? Our happiness was off the charts! My leftovers reheated just fine and were delicious! The tater sauce was several notches above the competition and since I’m a condiment eater, this is a huge plus. I would definitely eat here again and the sooner the better!
I’ve been to Showmars in Winston-Salem a few times now. I’ve always enjoyed it. The menu has good variety. I would say that it’s fast-food-ish.You go up to the counter and order like a fast food restaurant, and they have some of the same items that you would expect in a fast food restaurant. But there’s a bit more variety, and I would say a little bit higher quality.I normally get a Greek Gyro, with hummus. But you could also get fries if you’d like.I will say this. When you order, add a tip. They not only bring you your food, but they continually check up on you to make sure that everything is OK, and give you refills on your drink if you need it, etc. uncommonly good service.
Great seafood. Lightly breaded and served piping hot. The service is impressive: all the servers work together. Be sure that you tip this incredible group of hard workers.
What happened to the flounder? We have ordered twice previously & were pleased with the flounder/shrimp platter. Something has happened. The size of a piece of flounder was 2 oz & looked like it had starved to death. Very disappointed.
This was a good experience. It wasn't crowded. Food was fresh and hot. Staff was attentive. I ordered the flounder and shrimp platter. The only thing that could've been better was the fries. They were a little underdone. The portion was large.. I had a whole meal to take home. Overall, the visit was pleasant. I will go again as I saw other food being brought out and everything looked delicious.
We enjoyed our first visit.Atmosphere: Very clean. Decent music.Food: Fresh and tasty.Staff: Friendly and attentive.
The Showmars Experience (Online Order/Pick-Up Edition). I remember passing Showmars a couple of times when visiting Charlotte, NC, so I thought I would try them since they have opened a location in Winston Salem. So I went online and ordered the Greek Salad with Chicken: made with romaine, iceberg, and spring lettuce mixed with Kalamata olives, feta cheese, pepperoncini, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions. I also ordered Baklava, a classic Greek pastry made with layers of phyllo, honey, and nuts. Lastly, I ordered the Baklava Cheesecake. The system provided a seven-minute pickup time for my order. Once arriving, I went inside to check out the scenery. It appeared nice if I ever wanted to eat inside. Unfortunately, my order was not ready for pick up, although I was well over the time provided. I sat at a table and waited for my food which was not too long once sitting down. Once back at my location to eat, I felt like the food was ok. The chicken was ok but not marinated like the local Greek restaurant's but decent for a chain establishment. The desserts were good. I enjoyed the Baklava and the Baklava Cheesecake. So would I go to Showmars again? I will revisit them but get something different. On my next visit, I would like to try their fish selection. The seafood items on the menu looked good. However, I don't believe I will try their Greek dishes such as gyros, souvlaki, or pitas; instead, I can go to a local Greek spot for those things. The desserts are tasty at Showmars, so I would like to try the Baklava and Cheesecake again.
