The best restaurant you're not eating at. Split a spicy tuna roll and hibachi shrimp with fried rice. The only thing is I will ask for extra mushrooms next time. Food is always great. Server have always been very friendly. Never have to wait.
Nice building and their location on Stratford road is convenient, but the food was very unappetizing. My wife was not impressed with the fried rice and my meal was bland. The appetizer was also low quality. Service was good. Sorry to have to post a negative review.
this place was simply not good. i wish I had seen the 90.5 sanitation rating before we were leaving. the service was fine, but the facilities were not. it was not super visibly clean and the bathroom smelled like mold, I am hoping the low score is based on the poor facilities and not something with cleanliness in the kitchen. I did see them clean the soy sauce bottles so that was great! I got ramen and it didn't taste like much, the noodles were super overcooked, the veggies were fine, the broth was bland, the chicken just tasted like oil, I don't know, just super disappointing. I got fried gyoza, it was fine but not crispy at all. my girlfriend's udon plate was ok just not great, the tofu was bad, the veggies were fine. I am sad.
Having just delivered my son at the hospital, we celebrated over sashimi at Forysth Medical. I had been CRAVING some for the past 9 months that it was such a big deal to me to get my hands on some immediately. My husband originally ordered from Umi for the birth of our first child two years ago and decided to try Sakura this time, which was significantly less expensive. We weren't disappointed. The sashimi tray provided quality cuts of thickly sliced, most delicious fish. I was surprised that I actually felt full when I finished! And compared to other sashimi plates in the area, as I've tried many, Sakura has been the best bang for the buck. I ended up ordering twice before leaving the hospital for our one-night stay!My husband had great things to say about their chicken katsu and sushi as well and I'll take his word for it. Having been in tow for all my postpartum food craving catch-ups, he's had his fill as well.Just an FYI, their dining space is closed due to COVID, but their drive-thru in the back is open for pick-ups. I appreciate that they're working to keep their staff and customers safe in this way, especially since they're dealing with raw food like sashimi that I'd want to stay as clean as possible considering.
Very disappointed. Used to eat here semi-regularly, 5-6yrs ago. Ordered tonight for my birthday and food was bland, clear soup tasted like dish water, and sushi was meh. Not sure if the pandemic has been hard on the business maybe but the building was dingy and there was almost no one inside. The sanitation score was barely an “A”. Sad things have gone down hill so much.
I ordered crab cakes and california rolls both were DEEEEEEELICIOUS!!! And the service was excellent. The only minor thing is that I wish there was a little more crab meat in the California roll. The piece of crab meat was a little small. But I was very satisfied. Highly recommend.Thank you!!
We were politely greeted when we walked in by someone behind the counter that told us to sit where ever we liked. We ordered miso, a bowl of sticky rice and a specialty roll to start. Food came quickly. No chopsticks were offered and I had to ask for individual plates. The soy sauce container was empty and we had to grab one from another table. The water served tasted like tap water. The miso soup was tasteless, the rice was okay, the specialty roll had the tinyest strips of salmon and tuna and was mostly filler. Over priced in my opinion. We intended to try a few more items, but after sitting for 15 minutes with no service we decided we were done. It was a Monday night and there were no other guest eating.
We just paid $70 for food we didn't even feel safe eating. Looks like everything came out of a can. Please keep looking if you want Japanese food. The salad was lettuce and about 10 shredded carrots. This is beyond ridiculous.
Tried this place for lunch takeout after one of our go-tos fell through. I will not eat sushi anywhere else in Winston Salem! Try the Taco Loco (it's not what you think it is!). ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
Such a great place! I have never been disappointed here - the owner is super friendly and the food is amazing! 10/10 recommend
