Super delicious beef and vegetable soup! The service was great and I liked that they have small booths for two people. The outdoor seating is beautiful and gives you a nice sense of the ambiance. They also have great tasting water lol. Nice selection of wine. Reasonable pricing and a bunch of options for desserts. I will be back to try the salads
I love Midtown and always order the granola-banana pancakes! Breakfast is their specialty so make sure you stop here for a delicious and filling meal in Winston-Salem.
This was my 2nd time coming. Came last week for the 1st time and had to come back to try something else. The food is good especially the crabcakes and grits and banana crunch pancakes. Go there if you can.
The spicy grit bowl was fantastic. The sweet potato pancakes were good. The kid's bear pancakes were adorable.
Winston staple. Been here for a while. Only my second time though, and blown away by the food, price, and people.Super friendly staff. Food was delicious and if issues arose they were addressed appropriately. Winston prices for lunch have certainly gone up in the past five years, but regardless midtown is still a great option and would choose it over other breakfast joints. They also offer lunch. Get the peach crepes. Amazing. Coffee was not good though.Competes in quality with my favorite breakfast joint, just styles are different. Don't hesitate to go here. You'll like it.
Having driven by this place many times, particularly on Sundays when this restaurant always appeared to be packed, I decided to stop by for lunch. You can sit outside as there is a large seating area, but that was closed in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. So, I sat inside. I ordered the midtown burger made with a vegetarian patty. For some reason, it took a long time for my order to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy. One of the managers came out and apologized. Eventually, my meal came out. It was very good. Then, when it was time to pay, they had subtracted half of the cost of the burger from my bill as a courtesy because of the delay. Wow, what a nice gesture. I did not order any dessert items (this place is named "Midtown Cafe & Dessertery"), but might do that on a future visit. Prices are moderate.
We came here for Sunday lunch today. The restaurant was extremely crowded and it took us a while to get our food. The food though was worth the wait. I got eggs, sausage, and pancakes and they were delicious. At the front of the restaurant are two large glass cases filled with a large selection of deserts. I got the creme de menthe brownie and enjoyed it. Definitely worth going to if you don't mind waiting during the lunch rush.
I've only eaten here 3x & each visit was great, especially the last one! Samantha is awesome! I love breakfast for dinner & would definitely choose this place more often as it's reasonably priced.
Fantastic breakfast! The server was quick, friendly, attentive, and helpful. I'm very picky about my bacon (I order it crispy), and I love sunny side up eggs - they were perfect. My husband's over-easy eggs were just right. The french toast is wonderful, only wish I had enough belly room to eat a full plate of them.
This was our favorite Winston restaurant. We visited many times over many years for breakfast lunch and dinner. This breakfast visit was a major disappointment. Waitress was very nice and professional but hostess was a grouch who did us a favor letting us sit. Food was a disappointment. Wife’s omelette contents were uncooked, my omelette was thrown together and nothing was more than warm. We didn’t return.
