Best Mexican food I've had EVER. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant, and we still find time to go when we're in town (we live 6 hours away), and manage to bring it home to stick in the freezer for when we need a la botana fix. The chicken pipian is to die for and impossible to find a recipe for online. The bean dip is the BEST, as well as the salsa. Also the chips rock. The service has gotten so much better over the last decade (it was a little rough in the first few years, but still AWAYS worth the delicious food every Friday night). La botana is just the best, so so good. Molcahete, the tacos, never had a bad dish there. And the owners are really wonderful
We went to this place because we were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, lucky us we found what we were looking for it!!I'm a tacos girl so that's what I ordered.The tacos were amazing!!! So tasty and healthy.The place is so cozy and the services was amazing! Friendly people and the priced were really reasonable?Definitely coming back!!!!
IMO, quality of food and service has declined. My lunch today was very bland, no real flavor except the oil used on grill. Cheese on taco practically non-existent. Same for my friend's lunch. Hostess seating us was very unwelcoming. Probably will not go back. Used to be very flavorful. Do not know if shutting down for Covid created staffing change.
Service is always great and food options are beyond your original dishes. Paired sauces for every dish is out of this world! and chip and dip is just right! Fried fish tacos with their toppings ?love their steak and eggplant dish for lunch but sadly I forget to take pictures of everything that I eat cause the smell will make you forget you had a phone ?
Terrible experience! What a pathetic amount of food you get in the Big ACP for 14.99. It’s basically a small portion and you’d get twice as much anywhere else. Barely any cheese sauce it was dry as a bone and I refuse to pay 1.99 for extra. They still sent us the receipt with the ACP on it. THEY STILL EXPECTED ME TO PAY AT THE END!!! NEVER COMING BACK!
Perfect lunch spot. Haven't been for dinner but I expect it's just as excellent. The food is delicious and fresh. I'm a vegetarian and they have plenty of great options. Staff is friendly and efficient. Great place. Check them out.
I have been going here for the last 2 years every month at least once, sometimes more.....usually at lunch. I went to dinner this time and the service was not good for the first time ever and I was very unhappy with the meal, I got the 3 street tacos. I asked to replace the rice and beans with a salad....no can do....and she tried to charge me more than what was listed on the menu Not sure why this was a problem at all. The salad was the whole reason for going.....I sat there like a manikin for 20 min with noone checking on me, while waiting for my dinner. Out of anything to drink and out of chips and salsa. I had to ask another waitress to help me. The meat or the spice blend for these tacos was not good at all, very tart and strong "limey" taste for all of them ....I can eat most anything and I left most of this because I just could not eat it. Huge fail all around and this has not been my experience in the past, so not sure what is going on. On the up side the margarita was very refreshing hence the 2 stars. They used to have drink specials but that has all gone away but states they are working on new drink special .....not sure why it is taking a year to figure that out
Second most interesting Mexican cuisine in winston salem right behind Alma. Definetly worth a visit if you like innovative dishes with creative ingredients.
We love La Botana! It has been our favorite Mexican restaurant for years! Food always great and above average! Good homemade Mexican food!
