I *LOVE* Kilwins, especially this location! Their ice cream is incredible and they have such a wide variety of treats!
I recently moved to the area from somewhere where local ice cream shops were abundant and fantastic. Moving here, it felt like only chains with subpar ice cream. I always considered Kilwins to fall into this “subpar ice cream from a chain”, but had never tried it myself. I finally tried it and it exceeded my expectations! The ice cream was delicious and had plenty of flavor. The waffle cone was also very good. The chocolates (tried the buckeyes and peanut butter cups) were disappointing and the chocolate itself didn’t even taste like chocolate. However, 5 stars for the ice cream
I cannot possibly recommend this place more for the services that they offer. The people are extremely friendly and had great conversation the entire time I waited for my chocolate covered strawberries to be made right in front of me. At the end of what I’m sure was a very long shift for them, they agreed to take the last little bit of their time to make these little delights for me. Offered me a discount because I work in healthcare. I will absolutely drive an hour to give these people business again. A+ all the way around. whoever left anything less than five stars on these reviews, is not a person that I would consider trust worthy. Go here. That’s the end of the story.
Ordered a quart of their Cake Batter Ice Cream with DoorDash. Sadly this was one of the least tasty ice creams I've ever had. The texture of the ice cream was similar to "frozen dairy desert". It was not rich, smooth or creamy. The cake pieces were not soft or moist...overly dry and crumbly. The fudge frosting mixed in also had a poor texture and there was WAY too much of it. For the price, I assumed this would have been a freshly packed quart like you would expect at Cold Stone but you would be wrong. This tasted as if it had been in the freezer for a month or two. Quart had the letters JB on the bottom for whatever that's worth. Very disappointed, especially considering the price paid for the quart via DoorDash.

Super delicious ice cream flavors that are uniquely different. I had the sea salt chocolate & Winston Salem mud... What???!!! Yep, crazy awesomeness!!!
The ice cream was good but the $25 worth of chocolate I got tasted old and like it had been sitting in the window for months. One of my cherry cordials looked totally different from the rest. It was bigger and the inside was wet, the other eight were smaller, totally dried out, and dusty tasting. I thought it was a candy shop but the candy is made in a factory and sent there. I guess they try to have the appearance of fresh made candy but it would’ve been much better if it was just packaged upon production and not left to get stale in the window for the visual.
Great customer service. Shop was clean and chocolate was delicious.
Excellent selection and helpful and friendly staff. I will be back again.
