The serving sizes are huge & the food is delicious ?

I made reservations for 4 at 5:30. We arrived at 5:15 and checked in. We waited for 45-50 minutes before being called, during this time there were several walk in groups that we're seated before us. Our waitress was not very friendly and only came back to check on the table once. Our chef was not friendly either and seemed a little confused at times. There was no excitement from the chef that kanpai chefs normally perform for their guest.

Yesterday we visited Kanpai to celebrate our son’s birthday. It was a huge disappointment compared to other experiences. In spite of our reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated and then another 45 before our chef arrived at the table. Our chef did not speak or engage in any way AND did no theatrics whatsoever. We did not even get a fire. We saw other chefs throughout the restaurant putting on a show but we got nothing. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is that the food did taste good. For $250, it is fair to expect more. We will choose another Steakhouse next time we are looking for a location for a family celebration.

The place looks great from the parking minus the smoking chef's. I didn't see anyone wash there hands! No mask being worn. I had to hold my pee because the bathroom was ?!! There was this guy name Chris!!! he was very disturbing with his hygiene. He reeked of alcohol and cigarettes and feces. . I will never ever stop to eat here! Don't be fooled by these pictures. Nobody washes their hands in this place!!! And the Chris guy smells!!!

The service is poor! Why wait an hour to sit in a place where they are going to over charge you in a place that is UNDERSTAFFED and very very disrespectful. I asked for my drink and the server hands me my glass with his hands on the rim of of my drink. His nails were dirty! And smelled like alcohol. Oh there was this guy named Chris I knew it because I heard some call his name. He was eating and licking his fingers and did not wash his hands!! Ewww! I could not believe it! That is very nasty! I think he should learn the proper way to conduct his elf in a restaurant setting!!! Please guys save your money and time this place deserves a thumbs down.

The chef did not interact with us and did nothing to make the meal interesting. We did not even get flames. We watched as tables around us experienced energy and theatrics. We had none of that. For $250, it is fair to expect more. We will take our business elsewhere for the next family celebration.

Had a great time watching Chef cook food in front of us and we had nice friendly people that were there, we met and laugh the whole time at table. Plenty of rice... delicious

Mother’s Day was not exactly the best for the restaurant. A lot of confusion, we had reservations and still had to wit an hour to be seated. Chef was good server was overwhelmed with too many tables. Not his fault.

The food was good but the grade is a 90. The place is old and nasty to say the least. Take it as you will. I do not recommend.

Quite literally the best Japanese restaurant I've been to in recent months. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was so much I had to bring home the remaining. The chef was first class and very talented at his job, and kinda funny as well. Great atmosphere, very clean and the service was fast and efficient. Definitely worth the time and money. Reservations are needed for the hours allotted but that works out well, too. Looking forward to the next time I dine there. 10/10
