The Hero House Experience (Online Ordering/Pick-Up Edition). Taking it way back, I was eating at the Hero House when its location was beside the Coliseum and remember when they had two sites, but now there is only one remaining. So on this day, I wanted to support the Hero House. I was conflicted about placing my order online or calling in. I called in but was on hold for so long that I hung up and placed my order online.I ordered their Greek Salad with feta cheese, Kalamata olives, pepperoncini, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. I also ordered their homemade onion rings. Ordering online was fast and straightforward, and I was given a pickup time with directions. Once arriving at the restaurant, my food was ready, and I was out the door in no time. However, I noticed that the salad size was not as plentiful as it used to be once home, and they did not put any crackers in the bag. Also, the onion rings were not the best, and the batter seemed off.I was not pleased with my meal and would like to know if the Hero House owners spot-check or pop in from time to time. Restaurants such as the Grecian Corner, Jimmy the Greek, The Olive Tree, Greek Guy's Grill, and Shomars, to name a few, serve the same type of food as the Hero House. Therefore, Hero House should not slack with its customer service, food presentation, or quality. Nevertheless, it has been a while since I had been to the Hero House, and I am unsure if I will return.
Best, most authentic gyro I have had in years, really since my days in Greece. Absolutely wonderful, and the homemade onion rings with ranch are the bomb!
When I first came in I was greeted with immediate attitude. I’ve worked in a restaurant before so I understand it can be stressful. But customer service is key. I got my food my sub was drenched in vinegar it was so bad my bread was soggy, from the vinegar I spoke to the manager she had a attitude because I asked for a replacement because my sub was drenched. My cheese sticks were not done at all. I have came in more than once and been greeted with this nasty attitude from the same manager more than once.
My family love this little hole n the wall & have been getting yummy sub sandwiches from here 4 many many yrs. I love their desserts especially their Italian cream cake. Actually if I happen 2 b near here on Stratford Rd sometimes I pop n just 4 a big slice of cake....even if I'm eating elsewhere. This morning I sat n the parking lot 10-15mins waiting 4 them 2 open @ 11AM along with a few other ppl. They aren't 2 difficult 2 find on Stratford Rd beside the gas station. U can read their menu online or on the wall behind the registers. U can call ahead 2 place ur order or wait til u arrive. They provide reasonably priced meals 4 take out or dine in + they do have a public restroom 4 customers 2 use. Check it out if u have never been b4.
First time eating here, heard about it but was pretty good. The bread was so fresh, so soft. Just good.. didn't get what I actually asked for but it was still good
My ultimate favorite place to eat. Their phillys are the best around here!
All I have to say is WOW!! Everything taste so great. I feed a family of 4 for only 60$ Nice! That included subs, sides, drinks and dessert. Awesome food.Awesome price. And it was delivered. My husband, my 2 grown sons, and I could not stop talking about how good the quality and taste was. This family had lots of smiles after eating from Hero House.
I used to go here all of the time when I worked for Lyndhurst OB/GYN. Lunch or stop to take food home. Still as good as I remember from those days so long ago.
Food is always great!! Love this place, friendly people, the subs are amazing!! Fast service, clean. Great local place to eat.
Great place for subs and sandwiches! pretty busy around lunch time when I went, but the counter service was pretty quick. Cute old timey diner feel. They make a good cheesesteak. The cheese is more like a melted, sticky cheese instead of the oogey gooey stringy cheese but still delicious. The fries are standard. The onion rings are delicious and comes in a hefty serving compared to other places that only give like 3 rings. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu!
