My wife & I were just passing through Winston-Salem heading back home to Illinois and found Don Tequila's online. We ordered the Molcaguac for an appetizer and absolutely loved it. So fresh and flavorful with the best chips. We also got the Burrito Norteno and shared it unbelievably huge and fantastic. Love this place. Great food & great people. Wish we could come every week.
The carne asada was really good, and the burrito was good. Not the best, but it wasnt bad! Overall a nice experience!
We went to dinner yesterday. Got there at 6. Ordered 2 strawberry margaritas. About 20 minutes later, another couple sat down across from us. Had their drinks in less than 5 minutes. Also got their food in about 15 minutes. The manager came by and asked to refill our chips. We asked him about our drinks. He came back and said our server was getting them. After waiting some more we asked our server about our drinks. He said he was working on it. At 6:42 we still had not gotten them or our food. The couple across from us was finished with their meal. I got up and asked for the manager. He came over and tried to say it was just busy. I pointed out the tables across from us (more than 1!) had gotten their drinks immediately. He said it was a different server. He apologized and said he would speak to our server. It took us over 45 minutes to get our drinks and food. The manager never came back or offered to adjust our bill for our long wait. Needless to say - no tip. First time I had done that in decades! The food was very good, and others did not have the wait we did. However the manager did say the table behind us was complaining also - same server. This was our first time there. Disappointed with the manager's handling of the situation. It would have been nice to take off the cost of at least one drink. We spent $57.
Hands down will go again. The staff was great. The food came out fast and nicely plated. The atmosphere and cleanliness were top notch. Will recommend and go again.
Great flavor to the salsa. Great service. The finest guacamole I've had outside of Guatemala. And the refried beans put a smile on my face recalling ones I had as a child.
Had not been here before, but chose it for convenient location for friend passing through town. We were all very pleased with the food, service and ambiance. Very good value - will go there again for sure!
Tasty food, been there twice and both times it was delicious. Food was given within a reasonable time, though it took a while to first get seated. Waiters always nice, never have attitudes.
The food was exceptionally tasty, that I would rate 4 stars.. nothing to write home about but decent. I think my issue lies with our server.. it was like she's been through the same meet and greet with her table she was almost cold and robotic. Assuming what we would order and what we'd be having to drink. Of course we corrected her. It took some time for her to get to our table just for drinks. Ordered and even asked her opinion on a plate or 2.. it was like pulling teeth just trying to get through a very typical run of the mill waitstaff experience. Maybe I'm being hard on her but I've waited tables plenty and at that rate of pay ... Well maybe she doesn't need the money. Long story short.. finished with our dinner needed take out boxes. Sat for like 15 minutes.. still no sign of our server. Now I'm getting antsy.. kids have school in the morning.. I get up look around for her hoping to get the check and the boxes. Luckily the bartender saw me anxiously peeking through the kitchen doors and immediately got boxes for me and alerted our server got our server, the boxes and our check for us our that quickly and we left. It's all a matter of principle people.. I went outta my way just to brighten my servers day up.. and hoping for a little sign of life..but she wanted nothing to do with us. Oh well.. I will try this place again and hope like hell we get a better experience.
Enjoyed dinner with my sisters here and OMG the food and drinks are amazing. They have a very unique menu with lots of choices! I had the Pollo Sinaloa and the chaparra pineapple drink. The food was fresh, plentiful and delicious! The drink tasted like it was made from freshly squeezed pineapples! The server was kind, prompt and joked with us! We will be returning!
Amazing drinks , food was delicious and the overall vibe was what I was looking for ! Recommend the drinks ?!
