I convinced my husband to visit Cugino Forno as I had been to both locations - Winston Salem and Greensboro- and both were fantastic, but tonight truly disappointed me. When our pizza was brought to our table it was lukewarm at best. The dough was gummy and the cheese, well you know cheese gets after it had been melted and then gotten cold again. I will admit we went ahead and ate a few slices because we are currently housed in a hotel and walked quite a few blocks to get there. I decided to let the manager know we were disappointed, and that we were not looking for compensation, but just wanted to let them know of their lack of quality tonight. As I walked away from the manager, the owner, Yilmaz Guver, spoke to the manager asking about my complaint. Mr Guver never came to us directly to ask about our experience. After thinking about the lack of action on his part, I decided to take a seat at the table where he was sitting with a few others. I handed him the pieces of pizza we had left and asked him to pick it up,feel it and tell what was wrong. He admitted it was cold, and while he did try to offer a free meal, I expressed to him my dismay that as an owner, he did not come up to us afterwards asking about our experience. As a former business owner myself, I know you need to take it upon yourself to make contact with your customers when you know they are not satisfied. I am disappointed in both the food and the service tonight and doubt I will ever return there again.
Wow!! My husband and I ordered the Margarita pizza, a slice of carrot cake and a cannoli. They were all delicious!! The line to order was long but went by really quickly and we got our food super fast. Would definitely go back again!
Good and fast service excellent food
Absolutely incredible experience here and lives up to their repulsed of having the top pizza in nation. Friendly, interactive customer service. This was my first time here and cannot wait to come back!
Since today was a cooler Saturday afternoon, we decided it was a great time to come downtown and do a bit of exploring. We were able to find a parking spot relatively easy after a few minutes of searching. We made our way through the Bailey Power Plant (separate review). We decided to share a pizza and stood in line to order. We could see the menu board behind the counter so we were able to decide on the Supremo Italiano pizza. They also offer a few salad options, several baked goods and gelato. They offer wine, bottled beer, soda and bottled water as well. After placing our order, we were provided a number for our table and we went to check out Incendiary Brewing next door. We came out of Incendiary Brewing after I got a beer and we saw someone looking for our number. We both thought, wow, that was fast! We grabbed the closest open table and had a seat. The pizza looked amazing! Very similar to what I have had in Italy but Americanized with the toppings. The pizza is plenty for 2 - 4 people depending on your appetite. They have a lot of inside seating as well as all the outside seating in the coal pit. Although the pizzas on the menu are all 16 inch, we noticed they have 12 inch frozen pizzas in a cooler you can take with you and bake at home for $9.95 each or 5 for $39, which seems like a pretty incredible deal. We really enjoyed the pizza, the dough, the sauce and all the toppings were very tasty. Oh, I forgot to mention, Cugino Forno was voted as one of the top 100 pizzerias on Yelp! After the pizza, we decided to try something sweet. We asked them what they suggested and it was the Tiramisu. It was also very tasty. After checking in on Yelp, we received an offer through Yelp for a free Cannoli which we saved for later because we were stuffed. We also learned they have a second location in Clemmons on the west side of town. We will absolutely be back!
Horrible ownership. They pay their hardworking staff sub-poverty wages, then they steal tips you give them for their hard work. There are too many good places to eat. Support a locally-owned establishment that pays livable wages. The pizza isn’t worth supporting an establishment like that. People that exploit their staff like this should face criminal charges just like other types of theft.
Cugino Forno is my family and I’s favorite place to eat. The food is great, the workers are great, the service is great! You’re always treated like family & get to enjoy delicious, authentic pizza! Thank you guys for bringing my family and I so much joy over the past few years!
I love the pizza here. One pizza is enough for two people, the salad with the blueberries is amazing and also enough to share. My new favorite pizza place.
The pizza is A1, the crust is amazing. Definitely have to try it out. Don't forget to grab some hot chili oil to dip the crust in
Love the pizza and atmosphere. The one draw back is that they do not have fountain drinks or tea dispenser. The food is the best around. Only bottle drinks available
