Went to NYC 3 YEARS ago, always wanted to taste authentic NY pizza...big fan of "One Bite" Dave Portnoy...went to Lazarra's on 38th which Dave rated 9.3, and it was wonderful. If you follow him, anything over 7.5 is pretty rare. Anyway, I live in SC and been looking for ANYTHING that even comes close, and there just isnt....until today while in NC. Just stumbled onto Coppola's. Dynamite pizza, plain and simple.
My wife went to this establishment to pick up a pizza and wings, the owner we assume, mistreated my wifeWho ordered based the online menu, when she questioned the difference in price he spoke ugly to her and told her she take it or leave it. If you put your menu online or have someone else do it you should make sureThat the prices are correct. The food is bland and tasteless anyway. it’s close to our house that’s the only reason we went there. But I will never set foot in Coppola’s again! I’m also going to tell my friends and family who have eaten there not patronize your restaurant. I wonder if you would have spoken to me that way!
We Found a large piece of plastic in our lasagna meal. My wife returned the lasagna to Coppola’s the next day. The employee that, she spoke with was not very helpful. Our family will not be going to Coppola’s restaurant for any meals. Beware of the poor service at Coppola’s restaurant.
We moved to NC from NY in 2020 and could NOT find a great Italian restaurant here. We love it here! We come often and order for pickup. We’ve always had quick, friendly service and delicious food. The owner is a delight and it felt great to have a little slice of Italy! Grazie il mio amici!
Recently started ordering through grubhub from Coppola's. We had ordered 3 times and the food was great. We thought the value was great also as you got a sandwich and fries. We ordered yesterday a cheesesteak and also a hoagie cheesesteak, when it was delivered there were no french fries. I called the restaurant and spoke with Sal the manager. To say he was rude would be an understatement...he was beyond rude when I explained that our orders were missing fries. He said for the lunch we were supposed to get a drink, sandwich and fries but after 4 it did not come with that. (we never received a drink with our order). We ordered online before 4 o'clock yesterday. I told him because he was so rude and it because it did not state this online we would not be ordering again...he said "so be it". I cannot believe his attitude! I refuse to give my money to someone who does not appreciate my business. Good luck Sal on keeping customers with your attitude!!! If I could give -stars I would. People should not patronize a business that does not appreciate their customers and talks rude to them. His attitude has nothing to do with Covid. I am so sick of people using this for their rudeness.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wish I could give it zero stars for the way I was treated here as a customer. I have eaten here only a handful of times. Today was the last day that I will ever eat there again. My family and I ordered a Large Cheese Sicilian Pizza. It wasn’t good at all. It tasted like cafeteria-served pizza. From the dough to the cheese, I would have been better off making it at home and saving the money.I proceed to call the restaurant regarding the experience, in hopes that we would be able to resolve something. I was able to speak with the owner. I casually explained the situation and asked if there was anything that could be done.He was absolutely terrible and spoke to me as though nothing I said mattered. He was extremely rude, and I have never experienced that before from a local restaurant especially. He began going off at me about how long he has been making pizzas and basically, he couldn’t care less about my one experience. Then hangs up in my face.I feel bad for whoever is supporting a business owner that treats their customers like this. Regardless, of how long they have been in business, every experience matters. That’s the only way to get better as an establishment. All in all, I will not be returning. And I hope no one has to experience this again.
Absolutely authentic American- Italian ! Ingredients, crust, sauce- spot on! Service was most impeccable ! Thank you very much for a wonderful meal and restaurant experience !
I ordered a Sicillian Large Cheese Pizza (it was my first time trying this) also my second time ordering from Coppola's, and I tipped $3.00. We picked up the food and came home to watch the game and distributed the pizza between three people. All of us agreed that it was NOT good, or at least in our opinion. My girlfriend decided to call Coppola's and ask if there was anything they could do about it (I was next to her). She was respectful and calm. She asked to speak to a manager, and the owner was soon on the phone. It went from a simple request to the owner being EXTREMELY rude. Focusing on how he has "been working there for thirty years" and made her feel that our "complaint" was not worth his time.I understand business is business, however being rude to your customers who spent their hard earned money at your business is zero tolerance. I work for a grocery store and that is an automatic write up.. likely termination.I will not spend my money here again, I hope that no one else has to experience this as we did.
The corn chowder was tremendous had a little bit of a mild bite to it heatwise but excellent also had the chef salad which was huge and very tasty but they need to put it in bigger bowls it was very hard to eat in the way it was served I would also like to say that their carbonara is excellent. Did not have bottled water which was irritating and I had to eat my meal without any kind of drink but I was told they were just out of stock on it at the time. As far as the wait staff goes, I would expect a little more friendliness from the way staff going forward.
Would have to say one of the best old school restaurants I have been to! Service is out of this world!
